“What would it be?”

“The usual.”

“Shane?!? Seriously, cereal.  Eats some eggs and toast and waffles.”

“Mel, you know my breakfast is cereal.  I love cereal… Who doesn’t love cereal for breakfast.”

“Aye Shane?!  Your loca…  That why you’re so skinny.”

“You know you love my skinny ass…  umm… can you pass my cereal now”  Mel rolls her eyes as Shane gives her a puppy dog face. “Pleeeease!”

“Ugh!  Here…  Seriously Shane.  You have to start eating more.  You need a little more meat on you.”

“What’s with you Latinas always trying to shove food down my throat?”  Shane then gets quiet as she remembers what took place last night.  The reason why her heart stop beating for a second  or two.  The reason her heart raced even more.  The feel of familiar lips, a familiar touch, a familiar scent.  The reason she couldn’t sleep.  The reason that made her happy and sad and angry all at the same time.  The overwhelmed feeling that came over her.  The comfort that she missed.

“Shane?!”

“Yeah.”

“Why’d you walk out last night?”  Shane takes a moment before answering.

“I dunno….  There’s was too much emotion going on.  I guess… I guess I was overwhelmed.  That’s all.  In a way… I felt that I didn’t deserve her.”

“Shane?!  You’re right!  You don’t deserve her…. Ouch!  Fuk Babe!”

“Mark…  Be nice.”

Shane laughs at Mark and Mark shoots her a look.

“Look Shane, it’s so obvious to everyone that you guys are still so in to each other.  And it’s even more obvious that you guys belong together.”

“I know.  I have to talk to her.  Alone this time. No drama. Just me and her.  Was she okay when I left?  I really didn’t want to leave, but the thing with Harley and… well just everything… I was breaking badly inside and I didn’t want her to see it.”

“We know…  She took it fairly well.  She knows that you were probably overwhelmed and that she understands.  You should call her.”

“I’ll do that.  But right now we should leave.  I wanna stop by your sister’s house and say bye to the boys before heading off.”

“Okay, but we have to go now.”

Mel drives Mark and Shane to Lupe’s house.  Shane spends time with the boys.  She didn’t want to leave them and she didn’t want to do the shoot, but she signed a contract and it still had a year left on it.  She kissed and hugged the boys and Mel took them to the airport.  Mark and Shane both said their goodbyes to Mel and they were off.
