Meditations on Life Part 3
Kit watched the pair, holding onto each other in pain. Bette looked so fragile, years had been added to her age. “They are really getting antsy.” Kit said softly, not wanting to bring Tina’s wrath down upon her, which is exactly what she would have done if she kept on winding up Bette. There were times she wondered what exactly Bette had that compelled people to protect her as easily as they were compelled to hang her out to dry.
Tina turned quickly to glare at Kit, her sister in law for all intents and purposes. She loved that woman like her own family, but she never did understand Kit’s desire to chop Bette down sometimes. Maybe it was just a throw back from their childhood and dual competition for the heart and mind of one Melvin Lincoln Porter.
“Can you send up Helena please?” Tina dismissed Kit, wanting her out of the room before any of them lost their temper. Before Bette could fall any further away.
Kit was incensed, she was being sent away like a child because she wasn’t saying what either of them wanted to hear. “Tina,” Kit said, the escalating tensions obvious in her tone of voice.
“Auntie Kit,” Angie called from the bed. She wanted her Auntie to stop upsetting Mama B and Mummy; Mama B was upset enough already. She knew she was too little to know why, but she trusted her parents to make sure she was okay.
She had to make sure they were okay, because if they weren’t she wouldn’t have anyone who loved her like they did.
Kit turned her attention to her niece, surprised at the way she was called and the angry look on her face. “What’s up Baby Girl?” Kit cooed, walking to the bed.
“Stop making Mama B sad and Mummy yell.” She demanded, angry that her Mama B was sad again after all the effort she put into making her laugh. She loved it when her Mama really laughed, it made her feel all warm and tingly inside. Like she does when she watches the Wiggles and Captain Feathersword does something sillier – like that, only much much better.
Kit looked down, abashed that she was getting a dressing down by her niece. Stealing a quick look her to right, she saw a knowing smile on Tina’s face. Angelica Porter-Kennard can be all Porter sometimes.

So Jenny would be too cruel if B is telling the truth and it’s so much easier to think that she cheated? What wonderful sisterly support that is….I don’t recall which site I read it on, but the first time around with the carpenter, B never denied it even when there wasn’t cold, hard proof, why on earth would she deny it now when there supposedly is proof? Thx for the great update, can’t wait for the next, of any or all! ;)
I think Bette would feel much better if she just opened up about what happened with Kelly and what Jenny thinks she saw, in the long run this will only get worse for her.. great chapter :)
Man I hope Bette’s gonna be alright, please say so! Kit should cut her sister some slck, I mean who ya really gonna believe your blood or an outsider?? Hope someone gets Angie outta there before the paramedics come up and help Bette! PPS:)
Great Chapter… I think that Bette should just come out and tell Tina about it all… sigh! If I remember correctly as well… Bette just came out and admitted about the Carpenter.. She’s not one to deny it till there’s proof. Kit! Kit! Can’t you just trust your sister for once! Can’t wait for the next update. Thank you :)
Numerous people have died from shock, it is serious and needs to be taken serious. Bette’s body is shutting down because of the trauma of Jenny’s death. I don’t think that Bette cheated with Kelly, but ic scares the hell of me. I think that she will actually have Bette cheating.
Just caught up with this one and I must say you really got me hooked. I also think bette is in shock and needs treatment as soon as possible. Kit needs to give her sister the benefit of the doubt for once, Bette would do a lot but she would never lie about something like that Kelly thing. Good thing Hel’s is there to help them. Can’t wait until you post again.
Hi dear sweet Deean! Sometimes, sisters can be our worse judges. They cannot help us, as they are quicker with the blame or the bad habit of big mouthing their thoughts. At that time is when our best friends show up and give us the necessary strength to move on or to act accordingly. We are glad that B&T have such extraordinary friends like the group of extended family they have, who stand by them. You are doing just wonderful, dearest friend. PPS Hugs & kisses on both your cheeks.- Lucero & Marsha (Proud Salsa Aunties to the ever loving JC and Eunichick and Tias Adoradas to Patpez)
