    Meditations on Life Part 3

“Aunt Helena.”  Angie called her, distracting her from the sounds in the bathroom that made her stomach clench in sympathy and her throat burn.  “Mama B sick,”  she informed her aunt.

Helena sat on the edge of the bed, leaning over to look at the book that Angelica was reading.  “I know honey.”

Angie pulled the book back out of Helena’s reach and hide it behind her, afraid that she would have the book taken from her.  Her Mama’s let her read most of their books, but her aunts didn’t know that and would often take them off her when they baby sat her.

“Mummy said for you to go and see her in there,”  Angie pointed to the bathroom.  It was the one place that Helena had no desire to go into.  Watching people when they were ill usually made her want to be sick right along with them.

Swallowing hard and holding her breath she plodded to the bathroom, turning around to catch the look of amusement on the face of the littlest Porter-Kennard.  She was as evil as her mothers can be.

“Easy baby.  It’ll pass,”  Helena heard Tina whisper as she poked her head around the door.   “Deep breaths, slow.  In and Out”

Helena poked her head around the door and cleared her throat, she needed to get Tina’s attention, but she didn’t want to disturb Bette, knowing how much the woman valued her privacy.

Tina looked up and sighed with relief.  “Helena,”  she breathed as she continued to comb her fingers through Bette’s hair.

Bette was laying sideways against Tina, not a foot away from the toilet bowl, her knees drawn up to her chest.  Her face was ashen and drawn, her teeth were chattering and she was shivering seemingly without control.  Tina pulled Bette even closer to her, one arm wrapped around the woman, her hand hooking just behind the knee.  It was the most convenient way to try and keep the ill woman warm, to share body heat right now, but it didn’t seem to be working.

“Ohh god, is she okay?”  Helena gasped, never seeing Bette look so ill before.

Tina grimaced, “I think she’s just in shock but I’m worried.”  She informed the British woman.  It was only a few minutes ago that Bette rushed into the bathroom and started to expel everything she had eaten or drunk that day but is seemed much longer.

Walking carefully on the tile in her heals, Helena squatted down next to her friends,  “what can I do?”  It’d nice to be able to do something positive on a night like tonight.

Bette started the shiver harder prompting Helena to sit down and hug Bette closer to her as well.  “She’s so cold.”  Helena stated to obvious, surprised at how cool Bette really was to touch.

“I know,”  Tina whispered, kissing Bette on the top of her head.  “Are there any paramedics still here?”  She asked just as quietly.  She had moved on from concerned to scared not that long ago, she couldn’t risk waiting any longer if it is something more serious.

Helena nodded, her eyes not leaving Bette’s face.  Bette’s eyes has closed a minute ago, she wasn’t even sure if she was conscious anymore.

“Good, can you get them up here?”  Tina asked.  She was watching Bette, waiting for her eyes to open.  There was no way that this was just psychological anymore and it frightened her, she couldn’t even think about loosing Bette.  Didn’t want to think about it.

“Of course,”  Helena answered as she jumped to her feet, running from the room.

“You hear that baby, Helena is going to get you some help.”  Squeezing Bette tighter, she deposited a kiss on the cold lips, “hang in there baby.”

    1. So Jenny would be too cruel if B is telling the truth and it’s so much easier to think that she cheated? What wonderful sisterly support that is….I don’t recall which site I read it on, but the first time around with the carpenter, B never denied it even when there wasn’t cold, hard proof, why on earth would she deny it now when there supposedly is proof? Thx for the great update, can’t wait for the next, of any or all! ;)

    2. I think Bette would feel much better if she just opened up about what happened with Kelly and what Jenny thinks she saw, in the long run this will only get worse for her.. great chapter :)

    3. Man I hope Bette’s gonna be alright, please say so! Kit should cut her sister some slck, I mean who ya really gonna believe your blood or an outsider?? Hope someone gets Angie outta there before the paramedics come up and help Bette! PPS:)

    4. Great Chapter… I think that Bette should just come out and tell Tina about it all… sigh! If I remember correctly as well… Bette just came out and admitted about the Carpenter.. She’s not one to deny it till there’s proof. Kit! Kit! Can’t you just trust your sister for once! Can’t wait for the next update. Thank you :)

    5. Numerous people have died from shock, it is serious and needs to be taken serious. Bette’s body is shutting down because of the trauma of Jenny’s death. I don’t think that Bette cheated with Kelly, but ic scares the hell of me. I think that she will actually have Bette cheating.

    6. Just caught up with this one and I must say you really got me hooked. I also think bette is in shock and needs treatment as soon as possible. Kit needs to give her sister the benefit of the doubt for once, Bette would do a lot but she would never lie about something like that Kelly thing. Good thing Hel’s is there to help them. Can’t wait until you post again.

    7. Hi dear sweet Deean! Sometimes, sisters can be our worse judges. They cannot help us, as they are quicker with the blame or the bad habit of big mouthing their thoughts. At that time is when our best friends show up and give us the necessary strength to move on or to act accordingly. We are glad that B&T have such extraordinary friends like the group of extended family they have, who stand by them. You are doing just wonderful, dearest friend. PPS Hugs & kisses on both your cheeks.- Lucero & Marsha (Proud Salsa Aunties to the ever loving JC and Eunichick and Tias Adoradas to Patpez)
