Alice didn’t hear what her friend had told her because she was busy staring at Bette’s long dark blue skirt, pink long sleeve and black flat shoes.

“I’m sorry what did you say?” Alice asked innocently

“I was asking if you’re just gonna sit your ass there because I’m going to close this room now.”

“Oh right I’m sorry I didn’t hear you because I was kind of hypnotized by what your wearing right now”

“Why what’s wrong with it?” Bette asked looking at Alice quizzically

“Bette you’re my best friend and I love you but to tell you honestly you’re clothes are horrible! How can you get yourself a date if you’re always looking like that? You know what you remind me of ugly betty without the braces!”

“That’s so nice of you Alice, thanks” Bette replied sarcastically both women stepped out of the room

“Bette I didn’t mean to offend you I’m just worried okay, we’ve known each other since kindergarten but you’ve never had any relationship and if you keep on wearing the same kinds of hideous clothes I won’t be surprised if you’ll end up a spinster! I mean you’re beautiful and everybody I know envies your skin so you should flaunt it and not hide it behind those horrible dark skirts, long sleeves top and your big black eye glass.”

“I don’t care if I don’t find a date, I’m not into the dating scene by the way I’d rather stay at home and besides I feel comfortable with these clothes.”

They continued walking as they were headed to the faculty room when their other friend Shane approached them

“Hi guys I’ll go to Milk tonight are you two coming?”

“I’ll go with you Shane but Bette here won’t because apparently she’d rather stay at home sit in front of the tv beside her dog and watch ‘Somewhere In Time’ which mind you she has watched for a hundred times” Alice said then rolling her eyes

“Hey you may think that it’s sad but I really love watching that movie and I have a huge crush on Elise McKenna, she’s gorgeous”

“Whatever! I’m telling you Bette you should start having a life!” Alice replied then grabbed her things then left without saying goodbye.

Shane looked at Bette puzzled “What’s up with her?” the brunette just shrugged her shoulders off

“I don’t know maybe she went again to the principal’s office about the mini explosion that happened in the science lab that’s why she’s kind of cranky today”

“Oh yeah about that! I told Al to quit science and to just stick with PE” Shane said then she shook her head

Bette smirked “I told her that too but she won’t listen, from the time that she handled the science lab class more or less 10 mini explosions and accidents happened and all those incidents occurred in a span of 3 months!”

“Oh my! Then what will happen if she’ll continue handling that class until the end of school year? I think Alice will be the death of McEnroe High School!” Shane said laughing

“Shane you’re such an evil person you know?! We’re talking about our friend here” Bette said also laughing

“What?! You started it”

“I did not!”

“Yes you did, anyway are you sure you’re not going to come with us? It’s a new joint in this town, it means you’ll see a lot of hot women there” Shane said then winked at the brunette

“No I’ll pass; you enjoy yourselves guys anyway even if I’ll go there no one will even bother to look at me”

“You don’t believe that Bette, you’re beautiful inside and out trust me” Shane replied looking straight at the brunette’s brown eyes.

“Are you hitting on me McCutcheon?”

“In your dreams Porter!” The two friends laughed hard

“Hey you go ahead I’ll just get my other stuff then I’ll go home.

“Alrighty see you on Monday!”

“Yep see yah, bye”
