"Do you think we can still save it?" the blonde asked
"Yes I think so"
"Or what if I just drive to the mall and buy a cake?"
"You can do that but it might take you about fifteen to twenty minutes to get there and another fifteen to twenty minutes to come back which i think is just a waste of time"
The blonde sighed heavily "I think you’re right"
"I have an idea…"
"What?"
"Since all the other foods are ready why don’t you start serving them while I try working on the cake?"
"Yeah I think that’s a good idea"
Bette saw Sam, Dana and Lara went over to Jean to tell her about the vehicular accident and that the hospital was understaffed so they didn’t have the choice but to leave
"I guess you don’t have anybody to help you… so hang on…"
The blonde’s brows furrowed when Bette took her cell phone from her back pocket then pressed one button.
"Hey Kit I’m here in Tina’s kitchen… yeah… would you please come over here and bring Shane and Alice… no I’m perfectly fine… yes… I’ll tell you why, once you guys come here… okay, thanks!"
"I don’t understand Bette why did you ask them to come here?"
"Well we need more help so I called them"
"Bette, is it okay? I mean don’t you think it’s too much to ask them to help me?"
"Tina don’t worry, it’s okay, they would rather help make your mom’s birthday a success rather than just sitting their asses outside waiting" the brunette said assuring the blonde
Tina took a deep breath; suddenly she felt some weights were starting to lift off from her shoulder. Somehow, it was good that another person would take over and for her to just follow someone’s lead. The hazel-eyed beauty gave Bette a grateful smile and said
"Thanks Bette…"
The brunette returned a smile "I haven’t started working on the cake so don’t thank me yet"
Before the blonde could reply both women heard Kit, Shane and Alice’s voices as they walked towards the kitchen
"Hey Tina, baby sis what’s going on?"
All three women were surprised in seeing Bette and Tina together in the kitchen

They are at ease at each other ..that’s a start…thou I still like them “together”…but as you’ve said we have to give them time… and be “patient”.. .. [not my strong attribute] .. …The news she about to tell Bette is about David?…awesome!.. Thanks again phacey…still trust you!

Hey phacey – nice chapter. So glad they put their lamenting and pinning aside to focus on Jean’s celebration. When you ended the last chapter I was wondering why Tina didn’t just ask Kit, Alice and Shane for help, but I suppose having Bette intercede was a good way to get them together but also give them something to focus on outside of themselves. Anyway glad Bette stepped in to save the day, and glad she rescued the cake. That was pretty creative improvising. Thanks for putting up with my rants. I know sometimes I just get too carried away by my frustration with these two, but your talented writing and unexpected twists and turns keeps me coming back for more. Looking forward to the next chapter.
Phacey sweetie what a great update! Happy to see some changes between Bette and Tina, in this chapter i see maturity. Although im a tibette fan its nice to see that Bette respects Tina’s relationship with Sam. I know that u want tbette to become friends but i wonder what this ”friendship” will do to tina and sam’s relationship? Please post soon, im really anxious on what’s going to happen next, thanks hun!(-;
