While everyone was having a great time, Tina was just silently standing on the back smiling looking at all the people but mostly at her mother. It warmed her heart to see her mom enjoying her birthday party so much. She had never seen Jean laughed so hard in a long while and she was even surprised when Jean wheeled herself in front of the HDTV to get the Magic Mic so she can sing some of her favorites. She felt blessed in being able to see her mom having so much fun like that.
The blonde got startled when she suddenly felt someone standing behind her
"Tina the cake is ready…"
The hazel-eyed beauty turned around and saw the beautiful brunette smiling at her
"Really?"
"Yes, come and see"
Both the brunette and the blonde walked back inside the house to get the cake. When they arrived at the kitchen, Tina had to cover her mouth in surprised upon seeing Bette’s work
"My God Bette how did you do it?"
"Well good thing you baked a big cake, one of the two halves, I turned into a round cake. I put chocolate frosting all over it to make the damage area invisible then some chocolate flakes and walnuts on top. Then as for the other half, forgive me Tina but I took the liberty in raiding your cupboards, took these beautiful square glasses, and then turned the other half of the cake as a base for trifle. I added chocolate mousse and whipped cream then enhanced it with cherry pie filling for a Black Forest triple" the brunette said smiling
"Wow Bette I don’t know what to say… this is truly amazing… thank you…" the blonde said her eyes brimming with tears, happy at the brunette’s work
"You’re welcome" the brunette replied smiling
A moment of silence fell between the two. Both women felt that things were now different between them. Different in the way that the attraction was still there, it may or may not go away, only time could tell but now what was really important to them was the level of ease that they felt towards each other which was something that neither of them thought it would happen given their history.

They are at ease at each other ..that’s a start…thou I still like them “together”…but as you’ve said we have to give them time… and be “patient”.. .. [not my strong attribute] .. …The news she about to tell Bette is about David?…awesome!.. Thanks again phacey…still trust you!

Hey phacey – nice chapter. So glad they put their lamenting and pinning aside to focus on Jean’s celebration. When you ended the last chapter I was wondering why Tina didn’t just ask Kit, Alice and Shane for help, but I suppose having Bette intercede was a good way to get them together but also give them something to focus on outside of themselves. Anyway glad Bette stepped in to save the day, and glad she rescued the cake. That was pretty creative improvising. Thanks for putting up with my rants. I know sometimes I just get too carried away by my frustration with these two, but your talented writing and unexpected twists and turns keeps me coming back for more. Looking forward to the next chapter.
Phacey sweetie what a great update! Happy to see some changes between Bette and Tina, in this chapter i see maturity. Although im a tibette fan its nice to see that Bette respects Tina’s relationship with Sam. I know that u want tbette to become friends but i wonder what this ”friendship” will do to tina and sam’s relationship? Please post soon, im really anxious on what’s going to happen next, thanks hun!(-;
