Four days later, Tina was surprised at the telephone call she got from Alice telling her of the party Bette was giving Jodi.
How could this be? What the hell did Bette tell her for them to still be together?
Tina didn’t call Bette in those four days because she figured Bette was working out her feelings for her.
“So, are you coming?” Alice asked.
“Did Bette tell you to call me and ask me?”
“Yes, and she said you can bring Henry if you’d like.”
“Henry?”
“Yes, your boyfriend, your dicky wacko.”
“Thanks, Alice, for calling and letting me know.”
Tina hung up the phone with Bette’s lips still remaining in her mind. There was prohibited time they shared not just once but twice. Tina wanted Bette; she wanted to feel her body, taste it and touch it.
She decided that she was going to this party and that it was all or nothing. She picked up the phone and called Kate. There was no way she was taking Henry. Henry wasn’t going to be a part of her future if she had anything to do with it.
A few days later, Tina was sitting there at the table with Kate next to her. Sitting across from Bette wasn’t good. It was a soft, sweet and burning temptation. An aching temptation. All Tina wanted was Bette, but reality sat in when Bette was introducing her new girl.
Bette sat there, unable to stand seeing Tina with Kate Arden. How could she bring a woman to my house, Bette thought to herself. If anything, Bette expected her to bring Henry, not some other pussy.
She wanted someone to take the ache away. She worked hard to convince Jodi that it was a mistake she had made. For those days that passed, Bette had Angus drop and pick-up Angelica. Bette tried to avoid the temptation just burning inside of her just like that day when Tina came to drop off Angelica. She wanted and thought Jodi could take the desire way.
Between trying to make Jodi feel comfortable around her friends and trying to keep her mind off Tina, Bette closed her eyes tightly. She couldn’t lie anymore, she couldn’t hide it. Right before she turned to tell Jodi, she noticed Papi pouring Kit a drink.

Ohh man. Jodie must be pretty pathetic to let the mistake excuse work on her in a relationship that barely started. If you can’t be faithful when its supposed to be hot and new.. you will never be in the hard times. Bette better figure it out quick. If she hasn’t noticed Kate was totally into Tina. Is Jodi catching on that she doesn’t have much of a future with Bette? Poor Jodi, this chapter made bookends of humiliation for her. First she walks in on Tina having her way with Bette and then it ends with Jodi and company being told to leave so Tina can have her way with Bette. If I were Jodi I think I’d take a job in New York or something. Oh well, tough shit Jodi! Time to move on.

Hey Suc, Apologies as I haven’t been around much but trying to arrange sale of flat and make preparations for new house is really draining my time. Anywho here I am after reading this latest slice of your wonderful writing. I love this new and assertive Tina. I too would like to know how Bette talked her way out of that one. I know that she is a Yale grad. but she should be a lawyer if she could talk her way out of that one. But on second thought since Jodi has said that she is not good at long term commitments, she may welcome this as a way out later (Althiugh, I think that Jodi likes to be the one that calls it quits or cheats).
