    Mom and Alice Ch 10

    Previously:

"Come on Jess let’s go I have to drop you off and Mimi and Ivy’s and I am running late as it is." Bette said gathering her stuff. Jess followed her to the car with her back pack which contained her pajamas and toys.

Bette waited anxiously for Eric and Tina to arrive.

"Hey Porter are you all right you have been acting funny for a couple of days." Alice said.

Alice snapped her fingers in front al Bette’s face.

"Porter." She said snapping her fingers again.

"Oh yeah I am fine." Bette said as she snapped out of her day dream of Tina.

"Are you sure because you have been acting funny the past couple of days." Alice said.

"Al I am sure I am fine. I have just had a lot on my mind." Bette said.

"Okay. I am gonna get a drink you want you?" Alice asked.

"Yeah a vodka martini." Bette said. A little alcohol might ease my nerves a little, she thought to herself. She greeted the rest of her guest, but their was no Tina. She was starting to get a little upset and frustrated.

She moved out of the sight of the door to talk to a major client that she was trying to get as an investor. Alice walked towards her with the vodka martini.

"Here you go." She said handing her the drink. Bette took it.

"Thanks Al." She said. Chills shot through her body. She turned to see the woman she had been dreaming about coming towards her with a smile.

    The evening went very well.

As Bette was leaving she noticed a silver earring laying on the table. She knew exactly who it belonged to because she had returned it to the owner already once that evening. She grinned. Now she had her excuse to talk to Tina again with out being conspicuous.

Bette took the earring in her hand and walked to her office. She pulled out a plain whit envelop and dropped the piece of jewelry in. She placed the envelop carefully in her top draw. She knew she had to talk to Alice tomorrow.

    1. Just like your name sake you charmed my britches off (damn sorry, I will put them back on). That was intriquing how you brought all the main characters together using the challenge as your guide. As a Tibette fan I always enjoy those two together, but we got to see the relationship that Bette and Alice had built. It was Alice who first calmed Bette down enough to help Bette realize that she could have a relationship with someone.

    2. Thanks for sharing this wonderful story with us. How clever to use your original story as a catalyst for a challenge, I truly loved that!! Both stories have been so awesomely written and thoroughly enjoyed. Here’s to your “charming” continually…pleasel, another challenge.
