Previously:

“Hey Alice will come swimming with me?” Jess asked. Everyone looked to see what Alice would say. This was her ultimate test. If she said yes she was all right if she said no then she had to go. Alice bent down so that she was on Jess’s level.

“I would love to go swimming with you.” She said.

“Cool.” Jess said sitting the juice back on the table. She ran back to the pool. Everyone smiled at Alice who took her shorts of and followed Jess to the pool.

“Jess please get me your shoes. Alice is going to be here any minute.” Bette yelled from the kitchen to Jess who was playing in her room.

“I don’t know where they are.” She yelled back.

“Well if you want to go with us today you better find them.” Bette said. She was cleaning up from breakfast.

“I found them.” Jess said coming into the kitchen.

Bette was wearing blue jeans and a T-shirt. Jess was wearing one of ten pairs of overalls and a pink T-shirt. Everyone thought Jess was so cute in overalls. Jess really didn’t care. Bette always wanted her to wear pretty sun dresses, but Jess would not have it. Both Bette and Jess had their hair pulled back in a pony tail.

Alice knocked on the door and then came in.

“Al.” Jess said running to her. She jumped into her arms.

“Hey there kiddo.” Alice said. Bette walked into the room and greeted her with a kiss.

“Are we really going to see Dana play and then to take her out to eat if she wins?” Jess asked.

“Yep. We are going to see our new friend Dana play. What did Dana tell you last night right before she left?” Alice asked.

“She said I could go on the court with her today.” Jess said.

“Come on Jess let’s get your shoes on so we can get on the road.” Bette said taking Jess from Alice. They sat on the couch.

Bette took Jess’s feet and put them on her lap and preceded to put her shoe’s on.

“Honey you really have to learn to tie your shoes.” Bette said.
