    Chapter 1: Nimble

Slamming the door behind her, she quickly made her way down the stairs of the front of the house, walking out onto the sidewalk. The tears met the frigid cold December air as she tried with what little, thin clothing she had on to keep her warm. Forgetting to grab a jacket on her way out was sort of stupid and careless, but she wasn’t really thinking when she had left; just like she wasn’t thinking of anything now. It must of been around around nine’o clock at night, because most of the shops she passed once she was in town were already closed up. But not where she was going, oh no they never closed so early. Carmen was sort of skeptical about going to the Planet, because a little part of her was scared Shane was going to be there. Hell, a big part of her. It was kind of hard, keeping all of those tears in there, and so badly she wanted to just crumple to the ground and cry. But she was stronger than that, she would get over it. It wasn’t anything, right? No big deal, so she had just been cheated by the woman she loved, to whom she had slept with, told so many secrets to, dealed with all of her shit, and still be there. Yep, that was all it was. Nothing. She managed a dark, chuckle as she slightly smirked," oh yeah, only nothing, only me." It wasn’t the frigid cold which kept made her tremble, it was all the frustration and stress that had been building in her body since she asked that simple question… "did you fuck her?" She knew then what Shane was going to say, she wasn’t a fucking idiot. And all she had done for her, everything she had said. Apparently none of it mattered to her, none one fucking cent. The sad thing was that it was Cherie, the woman who had apparently choose money over Shane… and Carmen had been there. Letting her see that she wasn’t going to chose Shane over anybody, that she was going to be there by her side as long as she could.

She turned the corner as she was holding herself while keeping her eyes on the passing cement below her, her eyes looked so fragile and lost. The eyes of a horse after its spirit has been broken, or the way a doe looks just as the hunter points his rifle at the animal. They held so much anger, so much hurt, and so much did Carmen just want to be a child by going at fucking some random girl tonight just to get even with Shane. But, that might of been what Shane would do, right? But that wasn’t her, that wasn’t Carmen. Opening the door to the planet, she felt relief once the hot, humid hair hit her along with the loud music and random conversations. She looked around for anyone she knew just in case, she didn’t feel like really talking to anyone, she just wasn’t in the mood. Luckily Kit wasn’t there, she must of went home early. But she did manage to catch a glimpse of Alice, but Carmen just went around to another table to sit down and maked sure she wouldn’t see her. Looking around, she saw one of the waitresses just sitting there at the bar stool and once she looked Carmen’s way, she waved her over. Carmen remembered her, she had been working here a couple of weeks. Um… her name was…. Jennifer…. no. That wasn’t it. As she walked up towards her, she could read the name tag better. Jodie. That’s right, that was it.
