Old Los Angeles ruins, 6:30 a.m. Saturday, January 29, 2056–Restricted Zone
Louise is awake drinking a cup of coffee, is her turn to monitor the instruments whilst Tasha rests, there is no change in the readings and haven’t been in the last four days, but there is no way to leave the vessel, additionally to the magnetic fields, apparently lethal radioactivity from an unknown source is wrapping the ship, there is no way this time to re-establish communication with control room, so she starts reviewing her notes and going to the rest of the dreams and starts analyzing the second one.
Louise: ‘Let’s think in the second dream, I believe there are other two messages there
– The first one: someone, I may call The first one that is going away, will come back and the other one will always be in the first one’s heart as the first one will be in the other one’s heart. It looks a little confuse and some way more in the future apparently there are two persons one has to go away and the other has to stay but they are in the heart of each other, maybe they are family, like relatives or very close friends or a couple and they would be re-unified again…, well, I have no idea what it is about.
– In the second dream: We three, that maybe Maxine, Kristen and me, we will be united if not in the next generation, in the one after that. Well the next generation of us is Bette and Tina but they aren’t relatives, as a matter of fact, they are strangers…, well perhaps not according to Sharon, and the generation after them… oh, my God… Are they going to make a family…? Shit… if I don’t introduce them before anything happens, they are going to kill me. Oh God, how I miss my daughter… and Bette.
New Pasadena, 7:00 a.m. same day. New CalTech -building H-027- Bette Porter’s quarters
Tina: (closing her eyes and biting her lip) “… you are the daughter of Maxine and Melvin, aren’t you?”
Bette: (sighing) “yes…, that is me… and you…, you are Christina…, Louise and Kristen’s child, right?
The dead of their mothers left a big empty hole in both girls’ hearts, and the love and guidance from Louise filled well the emptiness; however, coincidently, both children wanted more, they wanted what they have before, a full time parent and that was impossible, for two main reasons, first of all, Louise have to raise Bette, these are days when humanity fight for survival and the priority for adults is to protect the young, especially children, and the second motive, is Maxine, before she passed, pleaded Louise to take care of her offspring, because the father wouldn’t do it and for Louise, Maxine’s words were her commands; besides, unintentionally, Louise really love Bette as her own child, as she love Tina. So Louise had to divide her time into three parts, Tina, Bette and her job with multiple responsibilities because she also inherited Maxine and Kristen obligations, no one else was capable of assuming them.

No no, you can’t end it with a cliff-hanger! Now i have to wait before i found out of Tina is allright.
Hmm, i knew that Jody, Kelly and Brenda are going to try to break our couple up.
There will be drama, but i have faith in you that you will bring them together at the end of your story!

Don’t worry too much about Tina, remember Louise dreams ‘we are not alone, they, the dead ones, will be always with us, they will protect us’, now, the challenge is how; besides they young keep changing, and respect to the three ruffians, you are right, there will be drama, I just hope our wonder couple will be strong enough to survive, but there will be surprises too. I will try to update as soon as possible.

Our couple does not waste time regretting that things were different in the past, which were yesterday is not today, as it is found in love, everything is an adaptation, for the relationship to work. And there is a question that seems to me is pending, at least that’s what it seemed to me … who will actually be “Alpha”!
And I’ll stay this expectation to know what happened to Tina.

You are totally right, it’s neither the strong nor the most intelligent who survive, but the one that adapts better, and that, my friend, has to be with the ability of subsist and thrive in an environment and the evolutionary process that come along with it. I believe that is also true in the emotional aspect, here both want to be the alpha, but sometimes when things get difficult, to keep going someone have to give and save the relationship, that someone is usually the most mature, Bette had to give, to stop Tina to go away, then Tina surrendered totally; who do you think was the alpha in that moment?

It is important to know that within a healthy relationship there is no competitiveness, but concessions. If Bette wants to have an Alfa partner, will have to adapt,
since it is the most mature, and give up at some points, even not agreeing, so that their relationship does not become a battlefield.
And Tina showed all his “immaturity” when he finds out who is Bette, getting up to go … considering your needs are greater, their problems are worse and the world is unfair to her … make this discovery one difficulty, which for her would be a serious problem, so she tried to escape … immaturity and emotional stupidity.

I understand perfectly what you are saying and I agree, they both are growing in their feelings, both are used to be the best of the best, both are alpha but different type of alpha, Bette is more shy type, probably because of her background (dead of her mother and indifferent father) but she is more understanding, she had many one night-stand partners and good relations with probably most of them, like a learning and teaching friendly relationship, and she is loyal (I’m sorry if I’m rough in these characters but I try to portray a situation in a hypothetical society, where many prejudices and maliciousness have been defeated due to the need of human survival, I know it is idealistic and maybe fool) she is very smart; she can understand Tina and each time that she gives up a little is to take more from Tina’s trust, love and will. Tina on the other hand, is another type of alpha, she is bold but not to the point of being blinded, she is more confident and has experience in interpersonal relationships, she doesn’t want to learn from her peers but to teach them she knows that she is lost on her feelings for Bette (she fell for her from the first day as if she was falling in a wormhole with no way out) as she said, she wanted to use Bette for her plans but it backfired and she confessed it to Bette (that confession wasn’t probably on purpose but it was smart, now she is even with Bette’s give up), and the only thing she wants now is to show her girlfriend that she is worthy, she wants to make her proud, in that way she may still be an alpha (or equal) on their relationship, because so far Bette is taken the lead. I put those two as alphas because I like them in a relationship as equals the weakness of one is the strength of the other so they complement and supporting each other.
