Naive Perceotion of Perfect Chapter 9
Chapter 9
Alice took one last look at herself in the mirror. She knew she looked good, she always looked good. But did she look good enough to win Dana?
Alice: Tee, I hafta go out for a while. Im not sure when Ill be home. IS that ok?
Tina didnt respond. She sat on the floor starring out the window.
Alice: Tee?? You ok? (Still no response) Oh *****, I forgot about the phone call, how did it go?
Tina: It was awful Al. Bette kept asking me to remember what it used to feel like between us. I closed my eyes and remembered.
Alice: No, Tina thats great.
Tina: No its not. As soon as I remembered, I also remembered the pain she caused me. Like no one else. So I told her that I wanted a divorce. ( Tina sobbed)
Alice: Oh god. Did you mean it?
Tina: I, umm, I think I might have. I mean, how can I ever trust her again?
Alice: Before you follow through with that Tee, take sometime and think about it ok?
Tina: I will Al. But you my friend have a little date to get to, dont you?
Alice: I do. Im not sure when Ill be home though. Is that ok?
Tina: Of course. I think Ill just rent some sappy Bette Midler movies, order a pizza and maybe bring home some men. Its been a while.
Alice: Huh? ( she was shocked that Tina was looking for men already)
Tina: No Al, not those kind of men. Ben and Jerry!
Alice: Oh, right. I knew that.
Tina gave Alice a smug smile
Alice: ( defensivly) I did!
Tina got up and gave her friend a hug. She knew tonight was a big night for her.
Alice: Thanks Tee. I promise when I get back Ill tell you everything thats going on. Ok?
Tina: Deal!
Alice grabbed her keys and gave Tina a quick wink. She was out the door. On her way to Danas, a nervous wreck.
