Previously 

Bette was lying on the bed with the lights off when she heard a knock.

“Babe, can I come in?” Tina asked.

“Ok.” Bette said and turned to her side.

Tina crouched in front of Bette and brushed the stray hair that has fallen on her beautiful girlfriend’s face.

“I love you, you know that?” Tina asked. She didn’t get a response. Bette was just staring at her.

“I love you even when you are illogically jealous. I love you even though you are insanely stubborn. And I love you even though you didn’t give me a chance to explain my side earlier.” Tina whispered.

Despite trying to keep her tears at bay hearing Tina say those words made Bette’s eyes let go of the tears that she has been holding back.

“Do you want me to call him right now and tell him that I am utterly in love and devoted with my girlfriend. Which is by the way you, in case there’s a misunderstanding here.” Tina smiled.

Bette shook her head no.

“Babe, I don’t care if he wants to get back together with me. And even if he does he wouldn’t have any chance at all because there’s no one in this world I would rather spend my lifetime loving than you. You are the one for me and I know that now. So please, let’s not ruin today by dwelling on this. It was a random meeting. If you don’t want me to have coffee with him, I won’t. I would do anything you want but please, let’s get pass this.”

“I’m sorry.” Bette whispered through her tears.

“I’m sorry too. Are we ok now?”

“Yes.”

“Can you scoot over then? I need a cuddle.”

And for the first time since the spat, Bette smiled.

Chapter 29

Bette was starting to come to her senses when she felt a hand tenderly going through her hair. She woke up to see Tina looking at her with a thoughtful yet serene look on her face.

Tina was the first one to wake up after she and Bette cuddled. The emotions of the day caught up on them and they both felt asleep. The warmth and comfort brought about by their partners presence was enough to lull them to sleep. She turned around and caught Bette still sleeping. Her girlfriend’s face possessed peacefulness and she has never looked more beautiful and angelic. Tina watched Bette’s face. Her doe eyes that she was such a sucker for. When those eyes look at her, may it be longing, happiness, hurt or lust she just can’t say no. To say that her girlfriend’s eyes would be the end of her is an understatement. Add with it Bette’s smile and there would be nothing left of Tina but a pile of mush.
