Never Give Up – part 11

Helena was unsure about calling Dylan right there, with Alice and Kit, or waiting for a better moment. She actually was thinking about taking some time to cool down things with Dylan, after that intense night they spent together before she left. She had no intention to hide her feelings any more, she was honestly sick of trying. Taking advantage of Dylan’s absence, she just wanted to know if she could think about her without having any of such intense and mind blowing emotions obfuscating her decisions.

‘For what fucking reason everything must always been so intense with her. Attraction, and love. Pain, and anger. Trust or betrayal, happiness, or misery. Can’t we set up a "normal" relationship, maybe talk together without arguing madly, or without fucking each other senseless? Well, maybe the fucking part could stay in the picture… God.. I must stop thinking at that… especially now that she’s not here..’

Her friends were not to help right now. They already acknowledged the power Dylan had on Helena: she could throw her self-control and self-esteem right out of the window with a simple look, and now a simple text message had the same effect on her mood. Helena sighed looking down at her iphone, and up towards her friends who just pretended they were not looking to her.

She closed her eyes, and Dylan’s image flashed into her mind, exactly that moment when she ran into her to kiss her passionately in front of the airport. The only thought of Dylan taking her head and pushing it hard to meet her lips, made her weak in the knees. She could not help herself: pride, or love strategy, didn’t matter anymore. She turned her back to the room and dialed Dylan’s number.

    Buzz… Buzz…

Rachel realized the noise came from that black phone on the desk. Dylan’s phone.

That was so weird, to have a vibrating call active, when almost everyone else tried to show off they have the newest and coolest music on their mobile. She really liked that film maker. She saw and read almost everything she could find about her, in the last 4 years. Her friends were always having fun on her little "director crush", but she didn’t care. That was pure admiration, for somebody having the dare and talent to do a job she would probably never be able to do.
