Never Give Up – part 11

"Yes, I agree with you. Absolutely. But I wanted to step back from my father, you know. I grew up in a… let’s say…quite a suffocating family. I lost my mother when I was 10, and my father wanted to compensate for that, and actually did a great job but.. I simply needed to escape."

Rachel always tended to talk very openly about her family, and her life, even with people she had just met. That was her ego, that really won over reserve.

"Yes, I can understand" Helena sighed, feeling sympathy for her.

They went on talking for about 10 minutes, when Helena remembered the real purpose of the call.

"Well, Rachel right? Can you please tell Dylan that I’ve called? "

"Yes, I’ll surely do, Mrs…." She realized she had not asked for the full name of Helena.

"Helena, just call me Helena. Maybe we could arrange a meeting someday. Have a nice day."

"Thanks, have a nice day you too."

Rachel was laughing for a stupid joke Helena told her, when Dylan entered the office and looked at her with raised eyebrow.

"Well, what are you doing with my phone? calling your school-mate and telling you finally got it?"

She was more surprised than angry. But she didn’t trust her completely, especially after what she had just heard in the meeting. For once, she was not the one telling lies, but the victim of that. And it was not a good feeling.

Rachel smiled innocently, moved close to Dylan, closer than necessary actually, and held the phone, placing a little soft touch on her arm before leaving the phone in Dylan’s palm. Dylan stayed still, but a shiver passed through her body at that skin contact. She looked down as she passed next to her, noticing she carefully avoid to touch her this time. Rachels body was so sexy in a naive and seductive way, Dylan could not still get if she was innocent, or deeply aware of that…

‘I definitely need to get laid…soon’

"I was about to answer a call, the buzz was driving me crazy. But it stopped before I could. It should have been some impatient lady. I’m sorry, I’m not so good with these touch screen. I must have deleted the registry about incoming calls"
