    The one where Bette replies to Tina’s question

    NEW YORK MINUTE

    CHAPTER 68

    What amused Tina the most about the look on Bette’s face was that she looked so surprised. They had talked a lot about their future – they were in agreement that their relationship was strong and this time they had a really great chance of making it work.

    “I – I would love to marry you “

    Tina grinned “Good –  take a look at the ring “

    Bette was still looking at Tina with a mixture of love and happiness on her face.

    “I –  I “

    Tina chuckled – she got up and walked round to Bette and crouched down and touch her face

    “You are the only woman for me –  no one else. There is no one else I would even consider having another baby with. Angie worships you and so do I . I can never pay you back the years that we were apart but I can promise you that the rest of our lives are going to be the best that they can be “

    Bette smiled – it was the sweetest smile

    “I will be the best “

    “I just want you to be you – you are so full of love “

    “I love you “

    “I love you “

    Tina took the ring box from the table and put it in Bette’s hand. Tina’s engagement ring for Bette was stunning –  a cluster of tiny diamonds surrounded a red sapphire.

    “Oh God – its – oh Tina “

    Tina removed the ring from the box and slipped it onto Bette’s ring finger on her left hand.

    “The future Mrs Kennard Porter “

    Bette touched Tina’s face and they kissed. The kiss was sweet and loving. Tina ended the kiss and returned to her seat as their drinks were delivered. Bette was looking at the ring – still in surprise.

    “Take a drink “ Tina suggested

    Bette looked at Tina and nodded “I am – I just don’t know what to say “

    “You know how I feel about you “

    “I do – and you know how I feel about you “

    “I just thought that as you proposed to me the last time – this time I should do it and it reassures you that this is what I want “

    5. Great update. Angie will be over the moon with happiness that her mother’s are engaged to be married. And especially since she has been advocating for the marriage since learning that the legislation was a possibility for NY state. She will be bouncing off the walls. Loved the update. Thanks.
