Bette took Tina by the hand and kissed it “I don’t know “ she admitted
“I hope it was but “ Tina shrugged “I really don’t “
Bette stroked Tina’s hand – gently exploring her palm and her fingers
“Is anything else bothering you Tina ?”
Tina looked at Bette who was looking up at her “Such as ?”
Bette shrugged “Just curious ? Is the script going well ?”
“Yes – the script has suddenly started to come together very well – I think it should be done by the end of the month. That should be enough to get me some more work – I am happy about how I have managed to get into work again. it’s a real help that you and Shane are around to amuse Angie “
“She more amuses us rather than the other way round “
Tina decided to tell Bette what was also bothering her – her conversation with Shane had made her see that she needed to tell Bette what was on her mind – she did need to be re-assured that Bette’s health was not going to become an issue.
“Bette – will you promise me something ?”
“You know that if I can give you anything – I will “
“Will you always tell me if you are not feeling healthy “
Bette smiled “I promise “
Tina looked away from Bette but the brunette put her finger under Tina’s chin and lifted her face up
“Talk to me “
“You were very ill Bette “
“And I was out of it the other day “
Tina nodded “I just am not used to you ever being ill – hung over – yes – but not as weary as you were “
Bette smiled and gently kissed Tina “I am fine — I had been guilty of not taking the basic precautions that I know I have to – the right food – not too much processed rubbish, the right amount of sleep and exercise. I lost sight of what has become my fundamental rules and I suffered for it “
Tina looked worried – Bette saw the fear
“Babe – I feel great today – I know that you are worried and I know that I was freakish in how I could work and run through any illness in the past. But I am older and things did take their toil on me. There are just basic rules and you know what they are “

Way to go Bette – as for the interview, at first I thought she was talking about her father, but then she mentioned MOMA and an exhibition, so it could have been in relations to the italian actor Massimo Troisi (The Postman), who I think died of heartfailure in 1995 and was a dear friend.
