    ” Something bad…is happening in Oz…”

    Tina began removing her gloves as soon as she walked in the restaurant. It was Thursday and time for her weekly meeting with Alex. They used that time to not only catch up with one another but target major issues in the pre production stage of the show. When fifteen minuets had passed she reached for her cell phone and dialed his number. It only rang once.

     Alex: I know, I know. Im on my way.

    Tina: where are you?

    Alex: Just getting off the R train.

    Tina: Oh Alex why would take the R?

     Alex: At this time of day its better than the N.

    Tina: Please, they call them the “never” and the “rarely” for a reason Alex!

    Alex looked around confused. He knew the city like the back of his hand but all of the white powdery snow had him confused.

    Alex: where are we meeting again?

    Tina: The Edison. 47th and Broadway. Hurry Im freezing.

    Alex: Get us a table; Ill be there in just a minuet.

    Tina hung up the phone and seated herself at a quiet table in the back corner. She found herself eyeing all of the autographed posters on the wall. Some day soon the poster for “Apologies” would grace these walls and she couldn’t wait. Out of the corner of her eye she spotted a woman, beautiful and tall. She was an actress no doubt and she resembled Bette just a little too much. Tina couldn’t take her eyes off of the woman. Just as the woman sat down she and Tina locked eyes, sending a jolt of electricity through Tina’s body.

    Alex: Sorry, I’m late, but when it snows in New York…

    He noticed Tina wasn’t paying any attention to him.

    Alex: Hello?

    Tina snapped her head around, embarrassed that she had been caught starring.

    Alex: That’s Daphne Rodriguez.

    Tina: Who?

    Alex took his seat across from Tina.

    Alex: Daphne Rodriguez. She is a new comer on the scene. But she is very talented.

    Tina looked over at Alex.

    Alex: Not nearly as talented as Bette, but she’s pretty damn good.

    Tina: Hmm.

     Alex: She’s straight.

    6. Trust, I wasnt applying that Tina was better off, just that Bette should be able to understand. Shit happenes, but when two people connect like this its worth it. Trust, I know not to go with my gut with this story, it seem you like to throw in BIG twusts. Well, this is gonna be big drama, ooo maybe vena fught secene??? LOL, I crack myself up. Excellent job, you know my vote.

      This is going to make things even more interesting. Not only will Bette and Tina have to get over themselves and their fears and all those painful stuff, but they’ll have to face this Jackie-agent-from-hell person.
      It’s a nice touch, I like it.
      And about the previous chapter, I LOVED the way the air mattress cut the tension. The hope you gave Tina plus the air mattress thing is just what we needed. It works, it fits, it flows! =D

      Finally, I just hope Daphne is a bigger person than Jackie. On the other hand, I do expect her to be a little selfish, cause c’mon, star-wannabe, what more can you expect?

I’m wallowing in my Ben & Jerry’s “Half-Baked!” There’s something about having both the yummy vanillaish cookie dough and the decadent chocolatey fudge brownie all together in one serving that is so soothing and gratifying! “ohmmmmm” I’m calming my tormented soul…rather unsuccessfully I suppose. Since Bette and Tina are still not together! I’m begging you, flair, at least get them in the same room soon! (Oh, and just so you know, I’m a huge fan of Bette Midler as well and of “Beaches”…I was just yankin’ your chain! lol! You are still reiging supreme– “goddess!” Thanks you! Mwah!

How many times have I spewed reading the comic responses of these incredible women. OH, yeah, now I remember why I re-opened this window…somebody thought initially Daphne was Bette…But not me…I’m still stupid…I initially thought it was Sara…First Big Heart Palpitation. You know, I don’t want to reveal too much of what I think…because you’re evil:)and if I get too invested in what I think you’re gonna do…you’re gonna hit the eject button and I’m gonna wind up really hurt in some corn field somewhere. And since you’re from Jersey you probably don’t get that out in the country all the corn fields look alike. I just moved out here 5 years ago. And I still get lost. But it’s a good lost. Wouldn’t give it up for the world. No crazy city drivers out here. It’s peaceful. That’s why I like you. You turn my world upside down.

      At first, thank you so much for the snowy weither in your story ! Never I could drain to much of this magic in my eyes… I’m just crazy about snow ! And tell me about snow and moonlight… awwwww !! (god, I’m melting – like snow ! -lol-)

      This Adeena’s name sounds lovely to my ears, I must say. Exquisite, elegant, seductive. Perfect !

      “Anything that could keep them apart does” : well, here Tina gave a perfect definition of your way to drive a drama, hmmm ? (*wink*) As well as Alex’s one : “it’s a poignant truth of the human condition.” Right. So far of fairy tales, so – unfortunately – real indeed.

      “He saw her eyes begin to well up with each word.” Ah, god, words’ miraculous evocative power… And with this damn Bette’s understudy in addition (“a little too Bette-esque” indeed !), that’s pretty too much to bear – as our Alex so rightly sensed… (sooo wise, our Alex !)

      “She’s confident and self assured on the outside, but riddled with turmoil from her past inside. She wears her heart on her sleeve.” Wonderful depiction of Bette here. And just the ideal way to be for any drama actress, I think, to free all possible human feelings on stage instead of showing them in the “real world.” By the way, you put a great quote about that in your author’s bio – I liked it a lot.

      You know, I truly especially loved this entire scene between Tina, Alex and Daphne. These sorts of secretely intense scenes, with much more said inside than outside, between the lines, with endless mix between past and present, reality and re-creation, are very beautiful symbols for the eternal and fascinating duality and mix between arts and life, fiction and truth, evocation of memories through so-called fictitious characters, etc.
      Even if not being artists ourselves, how many time did we act this way in front of others – the “audience” ? Taking the easy opportunity of any fictional “alibi” to play with some hidden realities, just for ourselves and the sometimes huge need to express something painful in a masked way ?
      Well, sorry for such a digression… Put the blame on your story that is such a dangerous revealer.

      Aaah, and what about the finale of your chapter, big teaser ??? You. are. amazing. That’s big art, my Flair lady, big art indeed !
      No I’m feeling like the first time I saw All About Eve : I was the so naïve viewer who began to like Eve and her touching story before to angrily jump, mouth open, when I discovered what evil was behind ! Well, at least this Eve of yours seems more sensitive. We’ll see that !

      Now, I’m very selfishly happy to know that this surrogate-to-Bette and the one-and-only Bette share the same agent ! This way, a soooo useful jealousy will be add to the situation ! For the good of Apologies – and the “perfect pair” ??? Don’t tell me, I know : never ask any direct question to a drama writer ! Anyway, you already know how much I adore to wait…
      … and how much I ADORE your story !!

      As far as Ms Daphne is concerned, once again Flair….you did it. When their eyes met, I just knew it was going to be Bette; I mean, who else could make Tina feel a “jolt of electricity” but that would be expecting you not to be dramatic….and we cant have that.

      I cant wait til Bette finds out what Jackie has done; Bette’s not a stupid woman, this will (hint, hint) come to light.

      Oh, and while I’m thinking of it….Jackie, your dumb if you think Daphnes’ Bette-esque is going to work in your favor.
