    Not The End, Chapter 48

I look at Peggy and follow behind the man quickly.

We both gather aboard the limo.

“Who is it? Show us.” Peggy demands.

Another one of Peggy’s men sits across from us. He slowly turns a laptop screen to face us.

“Who is this gentlemen?” Peggy says.

The computer screen shows the hitman’s face.

“Peggy Peabody and Bette Porter, right?” He speaks.

“Yes? What do you want?” Peggy asks. “Who is this man?” She asks looking at her men.

“I’m at your art gallery.” He says.

My mind and heart begins to race.

“And I have a lot of things you may be interested in, like this.” He moves away from the screen to show Tina sitting there in the chair.

“T?!?” I say. “My god, Tina!? Honey, baby, are you alright?!” My words race out of my mouth with worry.

I watch as she nods her head.

Peggy sighs and shakes her head.

“What is it that you want!?” My words spit with anger.

“I need a forged signature.” He says.

He takes his phone and connects the networking cam through to his phone and walks around showing the art gallery becoming empty.

“Ms. Kelly Wentworth has failed to pay me so I’ve decided to pay myself by talking every million-dollar painting and sculpture from your gallery.”

As his words continue and his eyes look away from the cam screen, I watch as Peggy mouths the words. “Airport, now” to her men and the limo begins to take off.

“Give him whatever he wants, Peggy.” I say pleading. “Just as long as Tina and the others are alright.”

One of Peggy’s men behind the laptop quickly disconnects our speaker.

“This is not only just your option Bette.” Peggy says. “Get us to the airport now and have the jet fired up and ready to go.” She says aloud to the limo driver.

“Then what is the plan?” I say with all thoughts on Tina.

“We keep stalling. Keep stalling until we get back to LA, darling.”

“He doesn’t seem like the patient type. I’m worried he won’t wait around.”

I look back at the screen to see him focusing back to the first cam and I start to see a part of Tina still sitting there.
