    Not The End, Chapter 49

“Would you settle for a deal?”

I hear him start to chuckle.

    “A deal?”

    “Yes.”

    “Of what kind?” He asks.

    “Of your pleasure, of course.”

“Something better from what I’m planning to profit now?”

“I have a question.” Peggy asks. “Is this about the money or something more?”

    “Exactly what is something more?”

    “Business, maybe?”

“It sure can please me more.”

“So if you were offered triple the amount of money that you plan to make by this so called profit, you would much rather just go ahead with the business?”

    “Doesn’t it sound more exciting?”

    “You’re an interesting man.”

“So what was this deal you were going to present?”

“Triple times the amount of each and every painting you are planning to sale.”

    Alice’s POV

I watch as Helena walks towards the door and lifts her hand and begins to knock.

The door opens and Helena takes a step back.

“What?” The tall dark haired guy says bluntly.

“I really have to use the loo.” Helena says. “Please.”

“Fine.” He says opening the door wider looking around at each and every one of us.

I watch as he turns letting Helena walk in front of him, then I give James the signal of a head nod.

I watch as James quickly gets to his knees and places a piece of his own torn sleeve into the door, keeping it from shutting completely.

I start to count to five then nod again.

He slowly creeps open the door enough so he can get a view of both sides of the hall way.

He shuts the door again and looks at me with the widest of smiles.

“There is no one there.” He says. “It’s just him.”

“That’s the best thing I’ve heard all day.” Kit says.

“Now get ready for when he returns. That’s when you step in Kelly and don’t forget to get him to turn around so he has no view on us. And James that’s when you grab that sculpture and knock him out. Then all of us will quickly drag him in.” I say racing my words out.

James places the sculpture quickly by the door for quick grabbing.

Minutes passes and then the door opens again. “In now.” The man says.

“Excuse me.” Kelly says walking towards him.

    “What?”

“I need to speak to the bastard that was once working for me.”

    “He doesn’t wanna hear it.”

“I could care less. But I have an offer he can’t refuse.” Kelly says taking a step pass him.

He turns and quickly grabs her arm.

Within a second James quickly picks up the sculpture and swings the object hitting the man and knocking him to the ground.

James then quickly lays down the sculpture and we all quickly take a hold of his body and pull him into the room.
