    Chapter 10

     

    Bette instructed Tina to go outside the big mansion and meet her at a couple of outdoor tables that were rather secluded. It was getting dark and the weather was warm and not windy. Tina arrived first and was meditating about the whole situation, when her breath was taken away as she saw Bette approaching wearing a pair of old Levy’s jeans and a black, tight sweater with a low v-neck, and a white tank top underneath. The brunette was carrying the plate with the cake and two forks.

     

    “Sorry it took me so long, but I had to change” Bette said apologetically.

     

    “Ah… Don’t worry… I just got here” Tina struggled to say as Bette sat right in front her and placed the plate in between them. She handed Tina one of the forks and smiled at her.

     

    “Shall we?” The brunette sweetly asked and they slowly started eating the cake.

     

    “God, do you and your friends always cook this wonderfully? How do you stay fit?” Tina asked after the second bite and the brunette released a genuine laugh.

     

    “Well much to people’s surprise not all chefs enjoy eating as much as the actual process of cooking” Bette answered.

     

    “So you enjoy cooking more than eating?” Tina asked.

     

    “Well no since I actually love eating.” The brunette shyly smiled. “But once you’ve been doing this for a while you start appreciating more the simpler and healthier food” Bette commented.

     

    “Well let me just say you are exceedingly good at what you do” Tina said sincerely and Bette laughed again. God I love to hear her laugh Tina thought.

     

    “Why thank you Miss Kennard” Bette politely said.

     

    “So what made you become a chef?” Tina asked genuinely interested.

     

    “Actually it all started while I was at university. My friend Helena and I thought it would be fun to take a couple of cooking classes, just to do something outside campus and I was instantly hooked. Later I started the Professional Chefs career at the same time I was completing my degree in Yale” Bette said with a smile on her face, remembering how much fun she had during those times.

    18. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Wonderful chapter. Loved it that they had the chance to talk, and share a kiss, however briefly. And so wonderful that they have determined to have more time to talk and see each other the next day. This is so great for them and us to read a new and different beginning for “our girls.” Wonder how Tina’s parents will react to her seeing a woman. Hope Tina breaks off with Eric very soon, she can’t continue to see him and I don’t think she does intend to keep seeing him. She is to taken with Bette to see or think of anyone else. I am so happy for them, new love is so exciting and filled with awe. Loved the chapter. Can hardly wait for the next chapter. Thanks so much for posting.
