    Chapter 46: L.O.V.E. (Happy Valentine’s Day)

(Previously) “No, I just made it up,” Tina laughed, “Ready to face our friends?”

“Do I have a choice?” Bette grinned and they walked out of the bathroom, holding hands and smiling at each other. When they reached their table Alice and Dana were still dancing and Shane was sitting alone, drinking beer.

Shane smiled at them knowingly and raised her beer, which made Bette blush uncontrollably and Tina just giggled, half in embarrassment and half in excitement.

“How does she know everything?” Bette whispered, leaning towards Tina’s ear while taking her seat at the table.

“She’s the Yoda,” Tina smiled, squeezing Bette’s had reassuringly, “Wanna dance again?”

Bette looked at the dance floor and saw Alice dragging Dana towards the bathrooms, whispering something into her ear. Bette laughed and replied, “Sure…as long as we don’t get caught each time our dance ends up in the restroom.”

Tina’s senses became aware of the smell of fresh croissants and coffee. She slowly opened her eyes, stretching her body in the process and realized that Bette was looking at her with a smile, softly caressing her arm.

Tina’s eyes moved to the tray with all kinds of breakfast goodies in front of her and she laughed, “Don’t tell me you learned how to cook over night, baby?”

“Not yet but I know how to drive, and Carmen was more than happy to provide me with this little feast.”

“Thank God, Carmen is helping with managing the Planet while Kit’s in the hospital,” Tina smiled and stretched again. “What time is it, sweetie?”

“Just after seven am…I thought I’d pamper you a little before you have to go to that nerve-wrecking job of yours,” Bette smiled, kissing Tina on her forehead.

“Nerve-wrecking?” Tina asked, taking a bite of the croissant and sipping her coffee.

“Well…when you come home from work I can feel tension and frustration in you sometimes,” Bette replied softly, pulling a blonde lock behind Tina’s ear.

“You noticed?” Tina sighed quietly, “I’m sorry…sometimes my work puts so much pressure that I bring all the stress home with me.”

    1. I’m so sorry that you’ve been sick. You must rest up and conserve your energy because you have a big trip in two months. But writing stories won’t use up any of your energy, so it’ll be OK if you keep posting. Thank you for such a sweet chapter. I’m so happy that Bette is feeling more and more secure in the modern world. As for the new stories, please take good notes as they swirl around in your head so you that they don’t disappear into the ether. Learn from my mistakes. :-) Looking forward to your next chapter.
