Out of Closet (B&T time-travel romance), Ch. 53, Part 3
Alice kept reading and her eyes went wide at the last piece of information. She rubbed her palms together in excitement, “Bette and Tina owed me big time.”
She made a copy of the article and thought for a moment. “There’s just one more piece of the puzzle that I need to find.”
She grabbed her cell and hurriedly dialed Tina’s home. It went directly to their voice mail. Dialing Tina’s and Bette’s cells had the same results.
Alice shook her head and smiled, “I should’ve known. They are getting smart. Always turning their phones off when they doing it so I won’t disturb them. As if…”
She rubbed her eyes tiredly began tapping her fingers on the desk, thinking aloud, “Okay, I can figure it out.” She began scribing notes and doing some calculations until she was satisfied with results and then got another set of films to verify her next wild theory.
Two hours later
The loud knocking on the door made Bette groan in frustration, “Alice is early.”
Tina turned around to face her lover and smiled languidly, “At least she didn’t interrupt anything important. I was falling asleep in your arms.”
Bette kissed Tina on the lips and smiled back, “You exhausted me too.”
“Guys, I know you’re home. Open up,” Alice’s voice was loud enough for them to hear in the bedroom.
Tina put on her robe and gave Bette one more kiss, “Better open now or we will never hear the end of it.”
She was tying the robe’s belt as she opened the door and Alice stormed in with coffee in one hand and a thick manila envelope in another. Shane, Carmen and Dana followed.
Shane gave Tina a hug, “Kit will be here shortly with coffee and scones.”
Bette was coming down the stairs from their bedroom when she heard that, “Oh good. I’m famished.”
Alice looked at Bette and then at Tina and rolled her eyes, “Oh my God, you just can’t stop, can’t you?”
“I don’t know what you are talking about, Alice,” Tina’s innocent face didn’t fool anyone.
“Oh please, don’t give me that look,” Alice rolled her eyes again and whispered dramatically, “I know what you did this morning. You are practically radiating the afterglow.”
