    Alice to the rescue!!!

    Chapter 2

    Alice arrived at the hospital just after 8:00 that night.  She walked up to the desk and asked for Tina Kinnard.  She was given the room number and quietly made her way to Tina’s room.  Alice walked in and saw Tina asleep.  She walked closer and saw Tina’s face and gasped.  She covered her mouth and quickly left the room and walked up to the nurses’ station.  She took a deep breath and spoke as calmly as she could to the woman behind the desk.

    “Um excuse me, I’m Tina Kinnard’s sister and she called me today to come and get her but um, I just went into her room and um…”

    Tears were falling down her face and her voice cracked.

    “She just told me to come get her, that she was being released, she didn’t tell me she was this bad.  What happened to her?  Is she going to be alright?”

    The woman behind the desk stood and walked around the desk and put her arm around Alice. 

    “Sit down for a minute honey.  Your sister is going to be just fine.  They are releasing her tomorrow.  She’s been here for about a week, I can’t tell you much but I will tell you she is one lucky lady to still be with us.”

    “What happened to her?”

    “Like I said, I can’t say much.  She wouldn’t say what happened to her, but if I had to guess I’d say someone used her as a punching bag, but you didn’t hear that from me, okay?”

    Alice stared straight ahead with tears falling down her face.

    “Can I stay with her?”

    The nurse looked at Alice and gave her a tender smile.

    “Well if you promise not wake her, I suppose you can stay in there with her, just don’t say I said so…got it?”

    “Yeah…um, thank you.”

    The woman gave Alice’s arm a squeeze and stood to go back to work.  Alice walked slowly back to Tina’s room and quietly entered, pulled a chair up to the bed, and took her friend’s hand.

    Tina opened her eyes as the morning sun came into the room.  She looked around and remembered where she was and sighed.  She realized someone was holding her hand and saw her friend sitting up in a chair, with her head on the side of the bed asleep.  She smiled as tears rolled down her face.  She stroked her finger over her friend’s hand and Alice sat bolt upright.  Their eyes met.

    4. Hey D&A, Wow wee, this story is really heating up as the truth comes out. Tina has been knocked to kingdom come and back while inebriated. And the guy reasonsible is a police officer. The shit keeps coming.Good to have Alice there to help her out.I can’t wait to find out how Bette will fit into this mix.Will she be the carer to help Tina deal with this trauma ro just someone she meets.Whatever happens I hope the dirtybag gets his comeuppance in the most physical of manners.And that Tina finds her soul mate, Bette, soon.Great storytelling.Many thanks from Your Loyal Fan.

    5. AS much as I deride Alice for her big mouth, she always comes thru for her friends in a pinch. Its good that she could be available for Tina and to help her out. Hopefully Alice will take her home with her. And Tina is right no one would believe her regarding this man and she should just leave it alone and get to a therapist if needed. This man is a coward and theres no telling what he would do to her if he thought his career was in jeapordy. Very interesting story. Thanks for posting.

    8. OMG I am in shock to see this happening….tina must have destructed big time…and Bette definately needs to know….absolutely….Just get her out Alice just get her out….cannot fight city hall…I cannot wait for Bette to find out …cannot

Alice just get Tina out of Dodge city. no way any woman can ever win against a cop. no point trying. just take her home and help her heal. tina must have gone on some some huge downward self-destructive spiral BUT who hasn’t been there when they lose the love of their life? PPS. U r doing great!!!!
