“I took a personal day.” She answered seriously. “But I’m not sure what we should do about Gabby. How did you find out?”
“I got a call from Adler. He said the cleaning crew found the paraphernalia in her dressing room. That and I guess she sounded like shit the entire show.”
“I was enjoying the open bar too much to pay any attention to her voice, I guess.”
“Let’s see how their next couple shows go. We can’t let this get out of hand though. I’ll bring Dana in so we can keep a tight lid on this thing. Word travels fast in this town so set up a meeting with Gabby and Tonya and if you suspect the other two have a problem too, bring them in.”
“Aaron, I already discussed this with Gabby and the girls on Friday at the show.”
“Did that include the lifestyle clause of their contract?”
“Of course it did.”
“Good. So they’ve been warned. Set it up this week anyway. Maybe it’ll sink in if the meeting is in our conference room complete with in-patient rehab center brochures. We cannot afford to allow these dykes to fuck up a good thing they got going here.”
“I’m sure they’ll be more receptive to our position if we don’t refer to them as ‘dykes,’ Aaron.”
“They call each other that all the time, don’t they? It’s like black people and the word – ”
“AARON!” Tina interrupted before he even had a chance to stutter the word he was about to say.
He smirked at his employee. “Jesus, Tina. Take it easy. I’m only joking. I wouldn’t dream of calling any of them ‘dyke’ to their face. I’d have a huge lawsuit on my hands if Fairbanks and Peterson ever decided to sue for sexual harassment. Not to mention I’d be out of a job since we do work for the richest dyke of them all.”
Tina was extremely irritated at this point. She just couldn’t stand her boss using the term so casually.
“Is there anything else, Aaron?” There was bite in her tone.
“Yes, you have shows lined up this weekend?”
“One on Friday and two Saturday night.”
“Good. Take the weekend off and delegate those shows accordingly. I’m promoting Oscar and Esai to A&R rep status. You will continue to supervise them as well as Paige, Lara, Ethan, and the other four reps out of our New York office. Besides, there’s a bigger fish I need you to handle on Saturday. This one is going to take some finessing that none of the others are even remotely qualified for.”

Oh my goodness. It doesn’t have to be as bad as Tina thinks. All she has to do is talk to Dana, then go and talk with Bette and Kit and let them know what Aaron has asked her to do. HONESTY, Tina, honesty is the answer so that you won’t have problems with anyone over this, especially Bette. Please don’t let Tina do anything but tell the truth, and everything will be fine. Tina didn’t cause any of this she is only a tool for Aaron and what he wants. Truth in all things. Bette will believe her, she knows where she was all weekend and she didn’t talk to anyone else at anytime. Great update. Thanks.

Cliffy indeed my dear MeLL! This is going to be interesting! I sense danger danger for B&T’s budding relationship! Betrayal or avoidance of….. and I would certainly no what to be in Tina’s shoes ! Honesty is the best policy here. Tina should just tell Bette what’s up and they can all figure out how to deal with Aaron.
