Then don’t call me…
She said, the wink clearly audible in her voice as her heart slowly grabbed its pace again, allthough this time, as it seemed, the rhythm was somewhat faster than before…
What’s up?
What Tina was unaware of, was that on the other end of the line, Bette was experiencing somthing that was quite the same as what she was going through… Looking away from the secretary, who had dialed the number for her, the brunette tried to hide the trembling of her hands, and clung onto the phone somewhat tighter, somehow disrupted by the fact that she had noticed that endearing accent again… Tina seemed to have a lot of different voices, and Bette sudenly felt her heart yearn, wanting to know the woman’s real soul… She blinked, shocked by her own thoughts, and tried to remain the bussiness woman she was by continuing:
Did you get clothes today?
Tina’s smile faded slightly, thinking about her experience before, but as she felt the fabric of the dressbag in her hand, her lips involuntarily curled up…
Ive got a dress… A cocktail one…
A shiver went by the brunette as she heard the eager tone in Tina’s voice, and she knew instantly her wish had been granted… She had just caught a glimpse of the real Tina, and that glimpse allowed a wave of tenderness to wash over her… A feeling she had, never yet, allowed herself to experience… What was wrong with her? Bussiness… Bussiness…
Good, Ill pick you up in the lobby at 19.00…
Tina smiled at the sternness in Bette’s voice, and the tease had slipped her before she could controll it… Obviously the brunette was being watched, and probably overheard, and the blonde felt surprised she could allready so clearly define the turns and bends in the other womans voice.
What? You’re not coming up?
A laugh involuntarily escaped Bette’s lips, and the secretary had looked at her surprised… Ms Porter was one of the most known, but also one of the most closed, people in the art-business and the laugh had sounded so genuinly true, it had made the woman blink with ashtonishment, before she, hastily, before getting caught, got back to work.

Excellent chapter once again. I also wish you could just stay home and write, write, write… what a treat that would be. I love the mental image you provide in setting each scene. The dialogue and the emotion is just spot on. The “stop calling me” scene is my favorite of the movie and your description of Bette standing at the desk was just perfect. Always look forward to your updates. Good luck with the internship…can’t imagine dermatology being my thing either.
