Bette called Emma first thing on Monday morning and asked about letting Suzie go to sleep-away camp with Angie and Sophie. Tina said she would talk to Jackie’s parent when she took Angie to school that morning. They hoped that the other mommies would agree so all four girls could have their first summer camp experience together.

Angie was really looking forward to it, as were her parents even though they would miss her terribly. When Bette spoke to Emma she also asked if she was available to meet for lunch. Bette had a lot on her mind that morning. She needed a one on one session with Emma before she and Tina did their couple’s counseling session on Thursday afternoon.

“I have a pretty full schedule today but if you don’t mind meeting at my office I can order sandwiches or salads. We can talk on my lunch break. Will 1:00pm work for you?”

“That sounds perfect doc. Can you order me a Cobb salad?”

“You got it. I’ll see you at one. In the meantime I’ll call Liz and see what she thinks about this camping idea. Can you bring some of that literature with you that Lisa gave you?”

“Sure. Lisa did a lot of research, and I trust her judge so I’m sure it’s safe and secure for the girls. My only issue is the distance, but Lisa will be close by and we can fly up pretty quickly if needs be. The kids will have a blast and we’re only committing for one week at a time to see how they do.”

“Sounds good. See you later.”

“OK bye doc.”

Bette had woken up a bit anxious on Monday morning. She did her usual exercise workout routine at the gym which helped to relieve some of the anxiety that was building up but she really needed to talk to her therapist. She got to Emma’s office at 12:55p just as the food was being delivered.

“Hey Bette perfect timing. Come on in. I’ll get the food set up. What would you like to drink?”

“Bottled water is fine. Perrier if you have it.”

“Coming right up. Make yourself comfortable. I’ll be right back.”
