    “You still have this?” Bette asked as she reached up and gently held the pendant at Tina’s neck.

     

    “Of course I do” smiled Tina, hoping that Bette would notice what she was wearing.  It was a necklace that Bette had given her after they’d been dating for six months and Tina adored it.  “Why wouldn’t I?”

     

    “I don’t know” said Bette in a soft voice as she continued to look at it.  “I just haven’t seen it in a long time and didn’t know if you’d done away with it.”

     

    “I haven’t done away with anything that you’ve given me, Bette.  You should know that” she gently said.

     

    Placing the pendant back on Tina’s neck, Bette looked up at her and said, “We should get going.”

     

    “I guess we should” said Tina as she leaned into Bette and placed a kiss on her lips.

     

     

     

     

    Driving back from the restaurant, Bette couldn’t help but chuckle at Tina’s irritation with Stuart.

     

    “I really don’t see how you put up with him, Bette.  I mean, it’s not like you have a ton of patience with people as it is and he is simply exasperating!”

     

    “What can I say, Tina, he makes me laugh” she smiled as she looked over at Tina.

     

    “God Bette, he’s so condescending and flippant.  You know who he reminds me of?”

     

    “Who?” asked Bette as they pulled into the driveway of the house.

     

    “Beverly Leslie” said Tina as she removed her seatbelt and opened her door.

     

    “Beverly Leslie?” asked Bette as she got out of the car.

     

    “Don’t even tell me that you don’t know who Beverly Leslie is, Bette” said Tina with a raised eyebrow as she walked up to the front door with Bette right behind her.

     

    “Ok” said Bette as she unlocked the front door and pushed it open, waiting for Tina to enter.  “I won’t tell you that I don’t know who Beverly Leslie is” she smiled.

     

    Turning around once in the house, Tina watched Bette lock the front door and then turn around to face her.

     

    “But you don’t know who Beverly Leslie is, right?” asked Tina.

     

    “I wasn’t the one to say it” laughed Bette as she walked by Tina and went into the kitchen to open a bottle of wine.

    38. no stopping, no stopping so why did you stop? So when Tina stopped Bette from unzipping her dress and told told her to get a good nights sleep i was on the floor laughing. Like there was any chance of Bette sleeping after Tina got her all hot and bothered. I’m glad Bette got a second chance to go at Tina that night.
