Bette sat on the edge of the couch listening to this new information her eyes glued to the television.  Tina sat at the other end of the room in the cushioned high back chair stiffly watching the television from her vantage point for the latest update on the storm.  They all were waiting for news of Angelica.

The rest of the girls shifted from one side of the room to the other.  One moment tending to Tina needs through their show of support, Alice rubbing her back while Kit rambled on about the latest happenings at the Planet.  When a lull in the coverage happened the girls would shift to Bette’s side.  Kit taking Bette’s hand gripping it in silent reassurance that all would work out fine.  All of them together marking time waiting for any news of what might be happening that could give them a clue to Angelica’s where about and more importantly her safety.

Everyone in the room had the same prayer, “God protect Angelica” as the pictures rolled across the screen.

The weather forecasters in the studio as well as the live shots from the shores of North Carolina showed a fierce storm hitting the beaches and making its way inland.  The wind blew with an intensity that drove the live reporters searching for cover.  It was at these times when the studio reporters would fill the time by reciting statistics of previous storms.

“One of the more common terms unique to North Carolina is the term Hatteras low.  This is a term used to describe an extratropical storm system forms and energizes off the coast of Cape Hatteras.  The unique component of these storms is the source of the fuel which provides the extraordinary power demonstrated by these particular storms.  It is the relatively warm waters of the Gulf Stream, the largest warm water current in the world, colliding with the cool waters of the Atlantic that ….”

    Chapter 15

“A cat that sits on a hot stove, won’t sit on a hot stove again.  He won’t sit on a cold on either.  That cat just doesn’t like stoves.” Mark Twain

The uneasy truce between Bette and Tina became ragged around the edges watching the continuing coverage of Hurricane Alice from the east coast.  The longer the coverage continued the more monotonous it became as the news centers began replaying the same news coverage over and over again, dragging it on and on to create a continuous news event.  When it was clear that nothing new was being reported Alice took it upon herself to keep a light banter rolling.  This banter successfully prevented the heighten tension between Bette and Tina exploding into something that none of the girls wanted to witness again.  By preventing any lulls the girls were able to keep both Tina and Bette engaged and not withdrawn into themselves.  Alice’s banter knew no limits.

    1. Hey Jwet… plz don’t make us wait so long for the next post! i’m worried about Angelica and T/B aren’t looking so good either… storms blowing all over! i hope they all make it through them safe and together!

    2. Hey I have missed your story love to see what is going to happen next, hope B&T can sort out there differences. Look forward to the next chapter, Please post again soon.

    3. Jwet, I’m so glad you’re back with this story. I’ve missed it and hope you’ll continue it soon. Please let Angie be ok and get Tina and Bette back to where they should be. Don’t let Bette leave now. Tina needs to let go of the past and reassure Bette of her trust!

    4. Jwet, soo glad ur back with another post.thank god angie is alright but the damage has been done with tibette let them work this out for god sakes please.p.p.s.

    5. Dang, I was begining to think this story blew away with the storm. Hopefully its just the stress of it all and B&T can come to realize that neither one of them is perfect, and shits gonna happen, but you can’t always try to put the blame somewhere, sometimes its just the way it is.

    6. Hey JWET….glad you’re back! WOW….hurricanes on the coast and hurricanes at home. I hope Angie makes it home safe and TB can work things out. Please write another chappy soon…..I was ready to send out the hounds to find you! Take Care!

    7. J, this is great. You have written the struggle of trust so very well. Tina does need to get beyond the issues surrounding Bette’s infidelity. It is normal for someone to have a lingering feeling of mistrust. I know you will keep them safe. * wink * This was one powerful line from Bette to Tina: “You were in the driver seat. Maybe I shouldn’t have put so much faith in you.” ~~ OUCH ~~ PPS

    8. You call our conversation this morning gentle prodding on my part? Dang J, my arm practically reached through the phone to hand you the pen!!! LOL I am always amazed how you can write so much, so well, so quickly. Thanks for indulging us! :)

    9. I’m glad Seahurst finally got you moving, it’s been far too long a wait. With the foul weather at home maybe Angelica won’t want to be there. Yeah, Tina’s got some ‘splaining to do, first of all to herself.

    10. Thank you for posting. I have a terrible feeling that Angie is not going to make it and Bette and Tina are done. I hope that I am wrong in this thinking. Angie has to survive and Bette and Tina need to work out things even if it means that they are just parents of Angelica. Of course that is not what I would like to see. I would like to see them work it out and be a family as mothers and lovers.

    11. OK, I think I should go to Vegas and play for big money because everytime I go back in the archives and re-read stories the author posts either that day or the next. I was just reading Let it Go and now new posts from our beloved Jwet. How great is that. Loved(love) this story please post as much as humanly possible immediately!!LOL

    12. Hey Jwet, I am delirious that you are back and continuing this awesome adventure. Loved Alice’s failed attempt at bringing some lightness into the room but there was just so much darkness to swamp it ad bring it down. Then the news of Angelica’s safety was fabulous. Shame that I don’t think it is the most current. Then Bette and Tina’s sad reflection of recent event only served to push them further apart instead of uniting them against the worls. I do feel like my heart has been wrenched out and stamped on. Please let these gals find each other again. They are so much more when together than as seperate individuals and their daughter need their support. Please continue soon. A big thank you from Your Loyal Fan.
