“OH God thanks you for keeping Angie safe.” Tina says out loud.  All in the room join in hooping and hollering their happiness.  Each in their own way showing their happiness and rejoicing at the good news.  They all move up to hug either Tina or Bette dancing around in circles with their happy dances.  The jolt of electricity that comes with this news quickly dissipates.  In its wake the gang feels free to pick up with their daily activities and plans before they dropped everything to stand vigil with Bette and Tina.

Slowly each friend says their good byes and expresses their relief and gratitude that everything is working out.  A barbeque is suggested for Angelica’s homecoming party and promises of homecoming celebrations were made.

When all have gone only Bette and Tina remain in the room.  Well Bette and Tina and the large elephant, which is the unspoken broken trust that Tina brought out of the closet so to speak.  The adrenaline that kept them going through out this ordeal now is gone.  Their daughter is safe.

It’s just the two them at the moment and neither of them can look at the other.  Tina is fearful to see the damage she has inflicted once again written in Bette’s eyes.  She knows what this hurt looks like, she has put it there before.  Bette afraid to see the distrust that she knows is lurking below the surface.

Knowing that they have to deal with this issue of trust but not sure how she wants to handle it Bette makes a decision.  “Tina I hope you know that I am grateful down to my soul that Angelica is fine.  That I would gladly die a thousand deaths if it would prevent one hair on her head from being damaged.  I’m going to wait here with you until we know exactly where she is.  Then I think I’m going to stay in a hotel tonight.”

This gets Tina to finally look to Bette.  “What?  Bette don’t go!  I know …”

Bette had begun to walk out of the room but now turns and look back at Tina.  “You know what!  Tina I thought we had found it … found that spot of spiritual harmony that we had lost.  I know that I broke your trust not once but twice.  But really did you ever truly trust me again?  Was this all just an act, a role that you were playing until things got rough?  Plain and simple Tina do you trust anyone?  People are people and we are not all perfect.  I’m not perfect and I don’t think I ever will be.  All I can do is be here.  Right here Tina trying my best to be what you think I should be.  My best not to fail you again.  But maybe your expectations are unrealistic.  I don’t seem to be able to meet them.”

    1. Hey Jwet… plz don’t make us wait so long for the next post! i’m worried about Angelica and T/B aren’t looking so good either… storms blowing all over! i hope they all make it through them safe and together!

    2. Hey I have missed your story love to see what is going to happen next, hope B&T can sort out there differences. Look forward to the next chapter, Please post again soon.

    3. Jwet, I’m so glad you’re back with this story. I’ve missed it and hope you’ll continue it soon. Please let Angie be ok and get Tina and Bette back to where they should be. Don’t let Bette leave now. Tina needs to let go of the past and reassure Bette of her trust!

    4. Jwet, soo glad ur back with another post.thank god angie is alright but the damage has been done with tibette let them work this out for god sakes please.p.p.s.

    5. Dang, I was begining to think this story blew away with the storm. Hopefully its just the stress of it all and B&T can come to realize that neither one of them is perfect, and shits gonna happen, but you can’t always try to put the blame somewhere, sometimes its just the way it is.

    6. Hey JWET….glad you’re back! WOW….hurricanes on the coast and hurricanes at home. I hope Angie makes it home safe and TB can work things out. Please write another chappy soon…..I was ready to send out the hounds to find you! Take Care!

    7. J, this is great. You have written the struggle of trust so very well. Tina does need to get beyond the issues surrounding Bette’s infidelity. It is normal for someone to have a lingering feeling of mistrust. I know you will keep them safe. * wink * This was one powerful line from Bette to Tina: “You were in the driver seat. Maybe I shouldn’t have put so much faith in you.” ~~ OUCH ~~ PPS

    8. You call our conversation this morning gentle prodding on my part? Dang J, my arm practically reached through the phone to hand you the pen!!! LOL I am always amazed how you can write so much, so well, so quickly. Thanks for indulging us! :)

    9. I’m glad Seahurst finally got you moving, it’s been far too long a wait. With the foul weather at home maybe Angelica won’t want to be there. Yeah, Tina’s got some ‘splaining to do, first of all to herself.

    10. Thank you for posting. I have a terrible feeling that Angie is not going to make it and Bette and Tina are done. I hope that I am wrong in this thinking. Angie has to survive and Bette and Tina need to work out things even if it means that they are just parents of Angelica. Of course that is not what I would like to see. I would like to see them work it out and be a family as mothers and lovers.

    11. OK, I think I should go to Vegas and play for big money because everytime I go back in the archives and re-read stories the author posts either that day or the next. I was just reading Let it Go and now new posts from our beloved Jwet. How great is that. Loved(love) this story please post as much as humanly possible immediately!!LOL

    12. Hey Jwet, I am delirious that you are back and continuing this awesome adventure. Loved Alice’s failed attempt at bringing some lightness into the room but there was just so much darkness to swamp it ad bring it down. Then the news of Angelica’s safety was fabulous. Shame that I don’t think it is the most current. Then Bette and Tina’s sad reflection of recent event only served to push them further apart instead of uniting them against the worls. I do feel like my heart has been wrenched out and stamped on. Please let these gals find each other again. They are so much more when together than as seperate individuals and their daughter need their support. Please continue soon. A big thank you from Your Loyal Fan.
