Tina opened the door to find Bette standing before her with a bottle of wine in hand. Bette smiled as soon as she saw Tina, her hair tied up in a sleek pony, wearing a plain white shirt and snug jeans. Bette didn’t know how it was possible for Tina to look so hot even while wearing just the simplest of outfits.

“Hey Tina.” Bette handed her the wine.

Tina leaned in and gave Bette a kiss on the cheek. “Come in, Bette. You didn’t have to bring anything, you know.”

Bette entered Tina’s apartment and let her eyes take in her surroundings. “It’s the least I can do. If you didn’t invite me over, I would be dining on cereal right now.”

“Cereal for dinner? Eww, Bette.” Tina placed the wine on the kitchen counter. “Why don’t you have a seat while I check on the pasta?” Tina headed to the kitchen and gave the boiling pot of pasta a stir. “It’ll be ready in a couple of minutes.”

“Is there anything I can do to help?” Bette offered as she browsed Tina’s CDs.

“You can pour us some wine. The glasses are on the table.”

Bette poured the wine and handed Tina a glass. “Nice place you got here.” 

Tina’s apartment wasn’t too big but it was very cozy. Bette could see the thought that Tina put in each piece of décor in her home.

“Thanks.” Tina placed a big bowl of seafood marinara on the table. “Dinner is served.”

“Oh wow. That looks wonderful, Tina.” Bette suddenly felt her hunger as she took her seat at the dining table.

Tina smiled at how Bette seemed to be in awe of the food in front of her. “Anybody can cook pasta, Bette.”

“I can’t.”

“Are you telling me you don’t know how to cook anything?”

“I can boil water.” Bette said proudly.

“Oh wow! Really? That’s good to know. Definitely comes in handy when you need very… umm… hot water.” Tina mocked Bette.

“Are you making fun of me, Ms. Kennard?” Bette pretended to pout as she put a forkful of pasta in her mouth. “This is amazing, Tina. Where did you learn to cook like this?”
