Safe in each other’s arms…Chapter eight

When night came, they dined at the Italian restaurant. This was one of the most beautiful restaurants they both had ever seen, and they had seen a lot of restaurants in their short lives. The style of the decorations made you feel like you were in Tuscany. Bette ordered the pasta with chicken and sun dried tomatoes and Tina ordered the risotto with bacon and scallop. They shared a romantic dinner, simply enjoying the wonderful food and each other’s presence. After dinner they went upstairs to drink some tea. There was a woman singing and a man who played the piano. She asked if there were any requests and a man came up to her. The woman said it was for his beautiful wife and started singing ‘I will always love you’ from Dolly Parton. It might have been a cheesy song to choose, but Bette and Tina curled up against each other as they listened to the woman sing. Bette softly sang along to Tina, who was amazed by the beauty of Bette’s voice. She relaxed in her lover’s arms and listened to the words that Bette sang to her. She fell in love with Bette all over again, Bette just kept amazing her with some hidden talent. They stayed for another few songs before returning to their rooms. They made love for hours, expressing their deepest inner feelings. They came to that point of no return together and safely fell in each other’s arms. Tina laid her head on Bette’s chest and softly whispered to her.
    Tina: “Bette?”
    Bette: “Yes baby?”
Tina: “You sing beautifully, you know.”
    Bette: “Really?”
Tina: “Yeah, you’ve got a great voice. Could you sing me a song?”
    Bette: “Which one?”
Tina: “Whatever comes in your mind.”
Bette thought for a moment, before she sang a declaration of her love to Tina.
Bette: “Like a candle burning bright, love is glowing in your eyes. A flame to light our way, that burns brighter every day. But now I have you. Nobody loves me like you do. Like a leaf upon the wind, I could find no place to land. I dreamed the hours away and wondered everyday. Do dreams come true? Nobody loves me like you do. What if I’d never met you? Where would I be right now? Funny how life just falls in place somehow. You’ve touched my heart in places that I never even knew. Cause nobody loves me like you do. I was words without a tune. I was a song still unsung. A poem with no rhyme. A dancer out of time. But now there’s you. Baby, nobody loves me like you do. What if I’d never met you? Where would I be right now? Funny how life just falls in place somehow. You’ve touched my heart in places that I never even knew. Cause nobody loves me like you do.”
    Tina: “That was beautiful Bette.”
Bette: “It’s how I feel T. You mean everything to me. I love you so much T.”
Tina: “I love you too Bette.”
And with those words said, the two lovers drifted off to sleep, lying happily and safe in the arms of one another.
