Chapter eleven

Bette: They asked me to come with them.
Tina stood up from the couch and looked at Bette for a long time without saying anything. The thought of her and Bette becoming parents seemed so for away right now. Bette also stood up and grabbed Tinas hands.
Bette: If you dont want me to go with them, I wont go T.
Tina: You said they needed you.
Bette: Well yes, if I dont go, they might as well not go. But that doesnt matter T, if you want me to stay Ill stay.
Tina: Do you want to stay?
Bette was quiet for a moment while she thought about how to answer this question. She wanted to go to the North Pole and save those baby seals, but not at the expense of their marriage. She wanted to start a family, but they would have to wait till Tina was ovulating. If she went to the North Pole, she would only be gone for six weeks and they could have the baby then.
Tina: Well?
Bette: I love you with all my heart T. I love being with you. I want to start a family with you. But we cant do that right now and Id only be gone for six weeks.
Tina: Those baby seals are dying right now, arent they?
Bette: Yes.
Tina: Then you should save them.
Bette: So you would be okay with me leaving for six weeks?
Tina: As much as I dont want you to go, I understand how much you want to save them and if you dont go, nobody can. Go and hurry back to me so we can start our family.
Bette was amazed by Tinas response, she realized how difficult it must be for Tina to not be selfish and let Bette go. Bette cradled Tinas face and softly stroke her cheeks with her thumbs. She gently kissed Tinas lips and looked deep inside her soul.
Bette: I love you T. I promise to call you every day.
Tina: Ill miss you babe. When do you have to leave?
Bette: Tomorrow morning.
Tina: Wow. You should better start packing then.
Bette kissed Tina again and hugged her for a long time.
Bette: Im going to miss you so much Tina.
They stood together for a while, till Tina broke their embrace.
Tina: You should call Jessica and tell her that youre coming with them.
Bette: Okay, be right back babe.

Bette walked over to her cell phone and dialed Jessicas number.
Bette: Hey Jess, its me Bette. Im coming with youYes, it was Tina actually who told me to go with youYeah, shes amazing. She has such a good heart.Okay, tomorrow morning at 8 at the airport. Ill see you then.
Bette closed her cell phone and walked over to the bedroom, where she found Tina sitting on the bed.
Tina: Hey baby. Come here. I want to give you something to remember me by.
Bette and Tina made love that night with their whole heart, knowing they wouldnt be seeing each other for six weeks. When the morning came, the realization of Bette leaving sunk in even harder. Tina helped Bette making her suitcase and drove her to the airport. They walked through the doors and stopped when they saw the group of Greenpeace activists. Jessica spotted Bette and walked over to her.
Jessica: Bette, its so good to see you again.
Jessica and Bette hugged and Bette introduced Jessica to Tina.
Bette: T, this is Jessica. Jess, meet my wife Tina.
Tina: Its nice to meet you.
They shook hands and smiled at one another.
Jessica: Its nice to meet you to. Bette has been telling so much wonderful things about you.
Tina: Has she?
Tina loved teasing Bette and even though Bette knew this, she still couldnt hide the blush that rose upon her face.
Jessica: Ill leave you two alone for a while. Bette, could you meet us over there in ten minutes?
Bette: Okay Jess, Ill see you then.
Jessica walked back to the group of Greenpeace activists, leaving Tina and Bette to say goodbye. Bette hugged Tina for a while and whispered loving words to her.
Bette: I love you so much T. Im going to miss you so much T.
Tina: I love you more Bette.
Bette kissed Tina with all her love and passion, letting her know she would be back as soon as possible. Their kiss seemed to last forever, they didnt mind the people staring. They broke off their kiss in a need for air and rested their foreheads together.
Tina: Go save some baby seals for me baby.
They both smirked and Bette gave Tina one final, soft and loving kiss. Tina held Bettes hand till the distance between them was too large and she had to let go. She watched Bette walk over to the group of people, who all greeted her and hugged her. Tina saw that Bette was glad to see her old and new friends, but also saw that she already missed her T. Their looks met for a wile and Bette mouthed I love you to Tina. Tina blew a soft kiss towards Bette, who grabbed it and sent one in return.

Bette checked in and walked over to the boarding area. They boarded the plane and soon they were of to Greenland. From there they would take a smaller plane to the North Pole. While she looked through her window and was lost in her thoughts off Tina, she didnt notice someone take a seat next to her.
Roxanne: Hello Bette, how have you been?
When Bette heard that awful voice she hadnt heard for a long time, she wanted to break down and run back to Tina. Instead she held strong and coldly replied to the woman next to her.
Bette: Im fine Roxanne, how are you.
Roxanne: Fine too. I really want to apologize for what I did to you. I was stupid and greedy but Ive changed a lot since then. If you let me, I would like to show you how much I have changed.
Bette: Isnt it a little late for apologies?
Roxanne: I know but Im really sorry for what I did. I never meant to hurt you. I hope someday you could find it in your hart to forgive me.
Bette: I think that that day is very far away Roxanne.
With that said Bette put on the headphone and watched the movie. Roxanne just sighed and went back to her seat.

Tina had driven to work after bringing Bette to the airport, hoping to forget everything. Unfortunately, work didnt help so after work she decided to call Alice.
Tina: Hey Al, are you doing something tonight?
Alice: Yeah, Im going to Milk with Dana and Shane. Do you and Bette want to join us?
Tina: Ill join you guys, but Bette wont be able to make it.
Alice: How come?
Tina: Shes on an air plane to the North Pole.
Tina sighed and thought about how hard she missed Bette already.
Alice: Wow. Tell us about it tonight. Ill pick you up at 8?
Tina: Thanks Al.
Tina closed her cell phone and sunk down on the couch. Her phone rang and looking at the caller ID her heart skipped a beat.
Tina: Hey babe, where are you?
Bette: We just landed here in Greenland. Were staying her overnight and taking a smaller airplane to the North Pole tomorrow morning. I miss you so much T.
Tina: I miss you to babe. Are you cold?
Bette: Yeah its freezing out here. Luckily I have you to think of to keep me warm.
They both smirked and sighed.
Bette: I met Roxanne today.
Tina swallowed hard, knowing this must be hard on Bette.
Bette: She apologized and wanted to be friends I guess. She said that she had changed and wanted to show me.
Tina: Did you forgive her?
Bette: No, I didnt. She will have to prove to me that she has really changed. Im not just going to believe her.
Tina: Im sorry babe. I wish that this could be easier on you but it cant. I love you babe, remember that.
Bette: Always T. I love you too. I have to go, were going to the hotel. Ill call you tomorrow. Bye babe, love you.
Tina: Love you more.
