    Savannah – Amber Eyes

Today was a totally different story. She smiled a sad smile, at those years back and sighed loudly.
The relief she had felt back then, was in complete contradiction to the chaotic drumming of her heart in her chest, now. For the first time in her life, she wanted that second line. She wanted the blue cross to appear in the little window on the pregnancy test stick.
To be actually precise she had wanted it for the past three months.
There were only back from New York a few days. They had made the decision, it felt like a life time away now, to start trying for a baby, to start the donor finding and insemination process. It had been busy, confusing, exciting, and emotional. They had spent a little under 3 months back in the States to embark on this new and amazing adventure.

“We can match your partner’s looks down to facial structure,” the clinic had explained, answering the numerous questions Bette and Tina had about the procedure.

Tina remembered how Bette had been anxious to participate in the process as much as possible and even being given the opportunity to slowly push the syringe.

But Bette being Bette had preferred to stay with her wife, to look into her eyes as the OBGYN carried out the procedure. They had smiled at each other, held hands tightly, gently caressed each other face, kissed and whispered words for just them and quiet “I love yous” as the momentous development occurred.

All in all, this part had been the easy part. The waiting game had started just after that and although they had been told that it was unlikely that a pregnancy would result from the first try, Tina had been hasty, jumping the gun and had bought a pregnancy test a few days before she was even due to be late.

Her reasoning had been that early pregnancy test advertised results "up to five days before your missed period," so there was a chance to find out without having to wait.

But sadly the first month brought its first disappointment and she’d come up with only one horizontal blue line and a few days later had gotten her period.

    1. Thank you for the update and for understanding that we all simply love this story about the vet and her lovely wife in Africa. Yes, we look forward to visiting them from time to time with the windows you create for us with your incredible writing. You write brilliantly… please keep it going.

    2. I have enjoyed your story and writing so much. It is lyrical. Please return when you can. You and your writing will be missed as you go on a small (hopefully) hiatus.

    3. Bioutifoul!!! As always… Let’s just say that “La boucle est bouclee” Starts and ends with the cubs, and a whole new cub in the making… Can’t wait for that 2nd sequel (some day) where you’ll come back with that little addition to the family who will stroll in the Savannah and learn all there is to learn from Mama Bette about the wildness. (Sorry about this cinematographic reference but as I’m writing this, I can’t help but think about the beginning of “Crocodile Dundee III” and little Mickey… Yeah, I know!). Anyway, thank you so much for this! And oh God, I so have to reply to that sms of yours, darling! ;) Kisses, Kw

    4. Have I ever told you how thankful I am that you decided to share your talents with us. If I didn’t…then “THANK YOU”. I will gladly read anything you write. Peace, T.

    5. Wonderful sequel. Lady you really do know how to write a story that tugs at the heart strings from beginning to end. Every chapter you have written has touched me one way or another with the care, respect for each character and loving spirit with which you have embued the story. We love that you like to visit the ladies from time to time and we will be waiting when you return shortly (hopefully.) Thank you so much.

    6. Sad to see this one end, again, but hopefully we will revisit again, when the baby is due. But I hope that it will not literally be nine months, we could speed up time in FF Land. Maybe in nine weeks or better yet nine days, Just kidding, but I hope we get to see the Vet and her wife soon, along with their offspring.

    7. Wow Kins!!:-) thanks for a wonderful epilogue … The story of Tina with the pregnancy test is so touching! :-) the desperation and despair when she thought its negative is so palpable.. I almost cry. honestly… I thought you will bring the baby on your future installment! But hey! What a joyfull moment!! ;-) and the way she share the news with Bette is so extraordinary and it’s in the sweet way of course :-) and I was LMAO on Bette’s panic reaction :-D …. Hahaha … Anyway Kins, good luck for your project, you’ll be missed for sure.. I hope your small hiatus means not too long for me too :o)x ….. uhmm… And I hope whatever detoxification you took will never ever clear them from your systems :-p lol pardon me for this, but trust me it’s doing more good than not so good thing ;-) and it brings abundance of happiness to your fans when reading your stories :-) so please maintain the Tibette addiction ;-) hehe.. Cheers!:-)
