Tina yawned again. It felt like she had been yawning all day. She couldn’t actually remember the time that she went back to bed. She knew it was late though. She thought about how she had crept back under the covers and listened to Bette breathe. There was something soothing about it and Tina knew that she would have been asleep soon after.
“Tina, stop yawning. It’s contagious you know?” scowled Alice, trying hard to suppress a yawn herself.
“Sorry. I was up late last night.”
“Yeah, I bet you were.” said Alice, not even bothering to hide her smirk.
“I know you probably won’t believe me but the exact opposite of what you’re thinking actually happened.”
“Yeah, you’re right. I don’t believe it.”
“Do you want me to tell you something that will make you believe it?” asked Tina, wondering whether she could trust Alice not to gossip.
“I really don’t think that there is anything that you could tell me that would make me believe that you and Bette didn’t get down and dirty last night.”
“I wore pyjamas.” said Tina, in the most deadpan way that she could.
Alice stared at Tina. For the first time since Tina had known Alice she had actually rendered her speechless. She knew that it was unusual but she hadn’t expected this reaction from her friend.
“So, let me get this right. You went out dancing with Bette, which we both know is like foreplay, and when you got home you wore pyjamas to bed? I don’t believe you. I’m sorry Tina, but that just doesn’t happen.” said Alice, shaking her head in disbelief.
“Do you want to know something else?” asked Tina, figuring that she was in way too deep now anyway.
“I’m not sure I can cope with anything else.”
“We didn’t even kiss. I waited until Bette had fallen asleep and then got back out of bed and sat up in the kitchen for a while. Then I went back to bed and fell asleep too.”
“You’re making this up.” replied Alice, still thinking that Tina was having her on.
“I’m really not making it up. That’s genuinely what happened.”
“Why?” asked Alice, suddenly concerned that everything wasn’t right with her favourite couple.

well, damn…shane is going to be a trouble because she is into tina as well…maybe alice needs to talk to bette and mention that she needs to spend more time with tina instead of the gallery

Tina’s confided in Alice, so she really *must* be worried. Sometimes verbalizing it makes it worse… but it’s still not as severe as acting on it. Thanks for this post, CG, and I’m really looking forward to the next chapter. Thanks
