A Beautiful Gift part 2
Bette unlocked the front door and stepped over the threshold into the foyer of her home leaving the door open for Shane to follow. She turned off the alarm and dropped her purse and keys on the occasional table at the entryway. She continued through the living and dining room areas turning on lights on her way to the kitchen where she placed the brown bags of take-out food on the granite countertop island.
“Where do you want these?” Shane asked as she walked into the house with her arms laden with department store shopping bags.
“Just drop everything on the couch. We’ll sort through them and put things away after dinner. I’m starving and I gotta pee AGAIN!!” Bette answered on her way to the bathroom.
Shane laughed in a sympathetic not mocking gesture as her friend rushed past. Seems these days the mocha beauty was either eating or peeing. Shane had learned that increased appetite and more frequent urination were both symptoms of the pregnancy. She found it ironic that it fascinated her to listen to Bette talk for hours about every aspect of what her body was going through when seven years earlier when Tina first conceived Shane, Alice and Dana had labeled the couple as ‘boring’ whenever they would come into the Planet and talk about stretch marks, and how Tina suffered from occasional indigestion, constipation, and heartburn; all of which were common for expectant mothers.
“OK” Shane responded.
The agile young woman dropped the items onto the couch and sprinted back out to the SUV parked in the driveway to get the rest out of the cargo hold. Never one for shopping as a leisure activity Shane was surprised at how much she thoroughly enjoyed the day spent with Bette at the mall and various specialty baby stores. She was still amazed to think that her best friend was having a baby and that she’d been asked not only to be the God mother but to be an integral part of the whole pregnancy experience. Bette recognized how much Shane had grown and matured in the past four years even if the former Lothario didn’t see it in herself.

As she stood in the bathroom changing into more comfortable clothing Bette admired her slight baby bump. Having ended the second trimester she was looking great and feeling even better. She’d had a relatively easy first trimester but as expected she’d suffered with morning sickness, fatigue, and the hormonal changes as her body transformed itself to accommodate and nourish the fetus.

Oh wow how sad that they are not together, and Bette doesn’t have Tina by her side for the pregnancy hopefully she come along and they find share a pregnancy experience together since Tina ran off and hide hers for months before telling Bette. Angelica has a lil hard life sometimes always caught in the middle of her parents drama im sure she wants them in one home together, and out of all their friends I always felt that Shane was the most loyal one especially to Bette.
This is the first that I comment on this story, but as I followed the quiet reader.
I loved it. You have a way with words BAT.
although I am very sad to see Bette and Tina are not together, I hope their relationship will improve. Maybe Tina has repented of her measures towards former wife . maybe she is still feelings towards Bette. I’m so glad that Bette is not alone during her pregnancy and Shane support her. She is a good friend of Bette, since they persevered all through side by side.
I’m glad that Alice even more has been largely out of the picture, Bette pulled the line until she can take part in her life, I think this should had to do it!
I’m looking forward to the sequel.
and I can not help but I’m forever Tibetter, I hope they will be a family in the end.

She most definitely will remain strong and confident. She is doing what is best for her and not depending on someone else to have her dreams of family. I can’t tolerate a whimpy Bette. She will have bouts of insecurity but that’s different from being a doormat or allowing others to dictate how she should act or feel.

I don’t see why bette is so worried about tinas reaction its not as if they are together bette is doing so good by herself and I don’t think I could still care about a person who claims to love her yet have you sent to prison for kidnapping her own daughter ok ill stop with my rant this was another great chapter pps.

Just found your story. Love it! Happy to see Bette doing so great. Tina may be hurt but its not really her place to get mad at Bette. Bette is doing what’s best for herself and I love it. Angie will live it I thnk, getting to be the big sister. I had people Alice stays out of the picture. Was never really a fan on f hers and how she but herself in between B&T. Thank you PPS
