Some Christmas – Part 1
Chapter 1
Angelica trudged down the hallway and closed the door to her bedroom with a sigh. She jumped on her bed and picked up her favorite doll and held it, humming a song to drown out the sound of raised voices downstairs. It wasn’t working, however, and she could still hear her parents fighting below.
She set her doll aside and went to her dresser and opened the music box her mother had given her. She wound it up and listened to the tinkling music as a ballerina twirled in a slow pirouette inside. Her music box always made Angie smile, but not this time.
Why were they always fighting? Angelica didn’t understand. When they weren’t yelling or snapping at each other, they were too quiet – avoiding one another and only speaking in short, clipped sentences that Angie hated to hear. It made her feel cold even when the room was warm.
Angelica closed her music box dejectedly and got out her latest book she’d been reading instead. She turned on her tv and put on her favorite movie, which Angie had watched it so many times she had the dialogue memorized. She turned the volume up loud enough that she couldn’t hear anything downstairs, and settled on her bed again with her doll, this time with her book open. She was reading when there was a knock at her door and it opened.
It was her mother Tina, who looked tired and irritated. Her face seemed to soften a little when she looked at Angie, though.
“Angelica, you know you’re not allowed to watch tv after dinner until you’ve had your homework checked.”
“I know, Mommy. Sorry. I just didn’t want to hear…”
“I know sweetie. We’ll forget about it this time.” Tina turned the tv volume down and approached Angie’s desk and opened her homework folder. “What did you have to do today?”
“Worksheets for math.”
Tina pulled the worksheets out and glanced at them, she glanced up at Angie with a smile that made Angie feel a little better. “These are perfect, Ang. You’re really good at math. Better than I was at your age.” Tina put the worksheets back in the folder, and tucked the folder into Angie’s schoolbag. Then she sat down on Angie’s bed.

Thanks for returning and writing. Their fighting makes me sad b/c they have super highs and depressing lows. They need to slow down and appreciate their love and their lives.

Yay, you’re back! Thanks for this story. I do hope this is set circa 2009 because if Bette is still unemployed in 2012 that’s a really long time. PPS.

I feel opposite I like when Bette and Tina fight because it shows that everything isn’t always perfect in the world of Tibette, plus it makes for super hot making up
