    Drink Madam?

I turned from the photo and smiled at the waiter, not really looking at him but concentrating on the tray of sparkling crystal flutes instead.

Thanks. I said, taking a glass and returning my attention back to the picture.

I leaned in to look at the name beside it; Amelia Miller. My brow furrowed in drunken concentration, Id heard that name before. The old familiar feeling of realising I was a lot stupider than I thought I was, crept upon me again. I opened the booklet on the exhibition and flicked through it until I got to the section explaining the photos. There it was, in big bold writing; Amelia Miller, she had taken all the photos and it said her work was very reputable and well known in America. I really had to pay more attention to this art which I loved so much, I had been looking at these photos for a good hour and had failed to recognise who had taken them all.

    You like this one?

An American voice next to me startled me out of my thoughts. I hadn’t heard anyone approaching, I had been escaping a bit too far into my own world recently.

I looked to the woman standing next to me. She was very attractive, maybe an inch taller than me with soft brown hair and a slender frame. I pulled myself away from my appreciation long enough to think of something intelligent to say. Well as intelligent as it got after five glasses of champagne.

Yes its my favourite, I love the contrast between old and young. It kind of sums up life in one picture. I rambled, hoping the woman wouldn’t think I was a complete weirdo.

She smiled and glanced at me briefly before returning to the picture. I didn’t know if it was the alcohol or my depressing lack of a ***** life, but if she was a guy I would of said there was chemistry between the two of us. It was very subtle and over shadowed by the fact that we were both female, but I could still feel it, even after only saying one thing to her.
