Something so right – chapter 48
“Morning Tina – I didn’t expect you to be up so early “
“I wanted to talk to you alone – where’s dad ?”
“Down at the Poly tunnels with Finn – Willow is still asleep “
“So its just the two of us “
“Where is Bette ?”
“Sleeping “
“Would you like some breakfast ?”
“Not at the moment. I will wait until Bette gets up and we will eat together “
Sarah raised an eyebrow but didn’t comment on Tina’s remark. Tina walked around the kitchen for a few seconds trying to get her words right
“What is it Tina ?”
“Why don’t you like Bette ?”
Sarah looked slightly startled “ I don’t dislike Bette “
“You do – I know you too well – I have seen the looks and the less than enthusiastic way you have been with her. Just tell me to my face – is it because she is the manifestation of me being gay – do you think maybe that she has converted me ? Do you dislike her colour ?”
“TINA – that’s a terrible thing to say – how dare you “
“Well why – you don’t like her ? You have been bad mouthing us to Willow and Finn which won’t work by the way because they are too smart to be taken in by you. Come on – spit it out”
“Tina -don’t speak to me like that “
“What do you expect ? This isn’t some fling for me – this isn’t an experiment -this is my life – she is the woman I am going to spend forever with “
“You hardly know one another “
“I’ve been with her for over five months – and may I remind you how long you knew my father before you married him and got pregnant with me ?”
“That’s not the point – you have changed from straight to gay in an instant “
“I am 26 years old and I have known what my feelings for women were since I was about 13. So for half my life I have known that I was sexually attracted to women “
“You say that now “
“No – I say it because its how I felt.”
“Why didn’t you tell me ?”
“Because kids don’t tell their parents everything. Its how it is – you cannot be our best friends – you are our parents. My sexuality was something that I didn’t want to discuss with you or dad because I didn’t want to discuss it with anyone. I dumped Eric because I knew that I couldn’t hide my feelings – they were getting too strong – when I met Bette – that was the crystallisation of everything – that was when I knew that I couldn’t deny my feelings for another second. She has been amazing – supportive and kind and loving “

what funnyone said. hey, will try and call later. still at work. thx ally
Wow Ally why have they been avoiding talking about this before, I guess a lot of things were happening at that time, I love when they talk about their future together, it gives them the chance to feel more secure into their relationship. You are awesome Ally, keep posting dear. Love
I love all your stories. This one is great. Keep them coming. I’m all eyes.
Ally, Just Amazing!!!! Thank you
Hey, Bette won over Niall and I’m betting that she wins over Sarah too. What a great story Ally…I’ve loved it since chapter one. Can’t wait for your next post!
I think Tina calling her Mom out may start the process, but Bette may be right in the fact that she needs to have a conversation with Sarah alone. I adore the scenes with Bette and Tina getting to explore their feelings to the deepest of levels.
Near tears on the deliberation between Tina and Sarah. Almost envious on the declaration of love and committment between TiBette. This story is just something fantastic and you have an amazing talent Ally. Thanks for sharing
Sarah needs to lighten up a bit and let her daughter do what she wants…she’s going to anyway so might as well accept it with grace! Love that they can talk about kids and not marriage yet. PPS
Well, Tina certainly gave her mother something to think about. They should give her time to digest what Tina told her before approaching her on the subject. Sarah could take a page out of her husband’s book and look at B&T with her heart as well as her eyes. PPS :o).
Loved Tina standing up to her Mom. Sarah needs to trust her daughter. Who is she going to trust regarding Bette’s character? Her daughter, who she knows is mature, smart, and has a good heart. Or some random girl she may have never even met personally. Plus, what we have been told about Bette’s past is that she took home a lot of women but never led them on that it would be something more. If some silly girl thought it would be its her own dumb fault. Basically, just loved the way Tina stood up for their relationship.
That was great and Im with funnyone, love B&T, they are so cute and sweet! Please more, thanks!
Thanks for the frequent posts. Always improves my mood.
Ditto what everyone has said! so is this heart broken girl from bette’s past i wonder if it was the one before tina? i’m glad that fin and will filled tina in on what their mom has been saying! :)PPS
Yeah, what funnyone said, plus Sarah should know better to listen to someone else’s opinion, after all, she is a pretty independent thinker on her own and I would think that she would prefer to form her own opinion. It’s good that they can have the baby conversation and even almost have the marriage talk because their love is so very strong for each other. It would be the next thing to talk about, their future, and what it entails. At least they have an idea that they are both on the same wave length as far as the future is concerned. I hope this is one story that Bette does not end up having an affair after 7 yrs. together because then Sarah would have been right, and we can not let that happen. Great chapter AllyE. Post when you can.
What funnyone said, plus I have just the three kids for Bette and Tina!
OMFG! They’ve decided to have kids before they can even say the ‘marriage’ word!?! Well, having kids out of wedlock is no way to win over Sarah! Wait. Didn’t you say that crusty old Sarah had given birth to Tina (or whatever her REAL hippy name is) at freakin’ Woodstock? Hard to reconcile. I bet there’s some tie-dye still hanging in the back of Sarah’s closet. Why don’t they get her some of Niall’s homegrown bud? That should help relax her.
So nice to find a new chapter. I’m addicted to this story. Hope that Tina’s mother will appreciate Bette soon.
I’ve learn new words today ” tittle tattle” and “egalitarian”. Thanks for sharing. Love all your stories Ally.
If it were any other couple I’d say slow down….your moving way too fast. But Bette and Tina are just talking about their future together and they realize that they want ton spend their lives togethr. This is so sweet and tender, the two of them out in nature really bonding and committing to each other. Let’s just hope that Tina’s mom listens to her daughtesr heart felt pleas and that Bette can win her over . I’m not to worried…the Porter charm hasn’t failed yet :-) PPS! So glad yu are posting regularly again ally. keep up the great work.
most people have the kids first these days; that’s what they used to have betrothals for back in the day; it gave the couple permission to have sex and then if she got pregnant within a reasonable time they married like Mary and Joseph…makes sense to me; saves on annulments because one of them can’t make babies. Bette shouldn’t be so sure that she’ll ‘win mum around’. My mom wasn’t won around by my partner who said those same words; who like Bette was a monogamist until she wasn’t; Lol, she was a serial monogamist like Bette!!! Ah but i loved her just like Tina loves Bette for all her foibles. I teach several kids [ all boys desperate for 2 loving parents & an alternate lifestyle] they could adopt & it sounds like to me that Tina needs the bud for Thanksgiving Dinner. Maybe Niall will pull it out for dessert and coffee
