CHAPTER 7……..
“I have a few questions of my own Tina…..and I want honest answers as well….” said Bette as she sat back down…..
“Ok……I think I can do that…..”
“Why the sudden change in the way you feel about men?”
“Well, being totally honest, I have no idea why…….”
“That was not the answer I was wanting Tina……I want to know why you went towards men?…………I want to know if it was anything I did?”
“No…..No Bette, it was nothing that you personally did…..I really don’t know why I went towards men……if I had to answer…….I would have to say that I think that it had gotten so bad between you and I, that I just needed to feel loved…..”
“When I came back Tina, I tried everything I could to make you feel loved, but you didn’t want it…..You didn’t want anything that I had to offer……I felt like a total failure…….”
“I never meant to make you feel like a failure…I …….Hold on a sec……let me go to the bathroom really quick…..” said Tina as she stood and walked rather hurriedly to the restroom…….
‘WTF?’ thought Bette. ‘Did I say something wrong…..again…..’
Tina was standing in front of the mirror with tears streaming down her face…… ‘this is horrible…….I did the same thing that I have punished her for….for so long……’ she thought. ‘I have to tell her.’ and with that, she walked from the bathroom and back into the den, sitting next to Bette……
“Are you ok?” asked Bette . Seeing the tears that stained Tina’s face……
“Yes, I am fine….thank you……I just merely…….I just…….I………..I realized something…..but I had to get myself together….”
“What? What did you realize?” asked Bette
“Bette, I am sooo sorry for punishing you for so long…..our last break-up was totally my fault…….I ………I did the same thing you did basically……..I was the bread winner of the house, and you were at home, doing nothing….I was jealous that you could do that…..and I couldn’t……and I took it out on you in more ways than one…..then I cheated on you too……two wrongs don’t make a right…..and I am soooo sorry…..can you ever forgive me???”
“I forgive you T……..it’s just hard as hell to forget…..”
“I know the feeling….we both did some things that weren’t right……..and now, we have to try and move on…….”
