Bette lightly tapped a shell, watching as it hit another and caused a chain reaction, each shell hitting the one beside it and causing a beautiful soft chime like sound. She looked back down to her daughter’s crib, smiling down at the adoring sight. Bette always knew her life was with Tina but she never would have imagined any of this. She felt so complete and so happy, she had everything she could have ever wanted.
A soft murmur of voices filled the living room and catching Bette’s attention. Even though Angelica was fast asleep, it didn’t change the fact that it was her first birthday and so her two mothers would tend to the guests until the sleeping princess decided it was her time to join in the festivities. Leaning down to place a gentle kiss on her daughter’s head, Bette whispered a very soft, "I love you" and made her way to the living room.
She smiled wide at the sight of her good friends and family, holding out her arms as the eager little Gage bounced around in his mother’s arms. With a laugh, Carmen passed him off to Bette who in turn placed loving kisses on his head and cheeks. His adorable dimples, brown hair and soft caramel skin made him an irresistible sight. He was a perfect combination of Shane and Carmen, two proud mothers of a healthy baby boy.
He tugged a little too hard on Bette’s hair, earning a stern look from his aunt but countering with a very cute pout that no one could resist. With a laugh, Bette smothered him with kisses once more knowing full well the boys charm but still unable to look passed it. With a worried pang in her chest, she glanced at Tina to see her wife laughing and giving her the "I told you so" look. Tina never failed to mention how cute he and Angelica would be when they got older.
Lifting Gage up to eye level, Bette rubbed her nose against his and put on her best "Auntie Bette" look, gazing into those innocent little eyes and whispering.
"In a few years, you and I are gonna have a serious chat, Mister"
