    Danish – tennis.

    It was now Alice‘s time to hug Howie, who had so selflessly put his feelings on hold for his sister.

    “You’re a really great brother How,” Alice said as she rested her head on his shoulder. “But you need to tell her. Trust me, it’s better for everyone if you do.” Alice pulled away from the hug to look Howie in the eyes. “Plus I have someone in mind for you that might just be perfect.”

    Their conversation came to a halt when they saw Dana running towards them, sports bag in tow.

    “Ok guys, well I better be off,” Alice stated as soon as Dana joined them. She didn’t fail to notice the disappointment in Dana’s eyes as she spoke, and couldn’t help but grin.

    “Alright Al, well it was great to meet you today,” Howie said as he grabbed her into one more of his lung-crunching hugs. “And I’m keeping you to that visit.”

    “You’re on Howie,” Alice replied, patting him on the back. She watched as he walked over to Dana’s Subaru, and smiled when he turned around to give her the thumbs up.

    “I..umI-I,” suddenly Dana had become her old self again, becoming tongue-tied in the easiest sentences. “I thank you for playing today. I know you didn’t really want to but I really enjoyed it.”

    Suddenly Alice grabbed Dana in a hug similar to Howie’s, reveling in the close contact between the two of them. Alice pulled her arms around Dana’s waist and rested her chin on Dana’s shoulder, allowing Alice to speak comfortably into her ear.

    “If tennis is what it takes to spend time with you, it’s well worth it,” Alice whispered into Dana’s ear, her soft breath causing Dana to involuntarily shiver. “This afternoon was the most fun I have had in years, and it was all because of you. Thank you for inviting me.”

    With that Alice brought her face backwards, stopping to place a light kiss on Dana’s cheek before staring into Dana’s eyes.

    “I-I um the thing is..” Alice stopped for a minute in realisation. She was tongue-tied. She had never been tongue-tied in her life – no matter who she was talking to until now. “Would you like to go out with me sometime?”

    “M-Me?” Dana replied quietly, glancing over her shoulder incase Alice was in fact talking to someone behind her.

    “You. You and only you,” Alice replied sincerely, her gaze never faltering from Dana’s eyes. “Please?”

    “I yeah. I would love you” Dana said, smiling. “You! No! Um Love to! The going out with you I would love.. To. To do that. Not you. Not that I wouldn’t love you but I-I.”

    Dana was physically crumbling at her blunder, which did nothing but make her even cuter in Alice‘s eyes.

    “That’s great!” Alice said in a quiet laugh before placing one more kiss on Dana’s cheek. “I’ll ring you later. Bye.”

    “Bye” Dana said quietly as she watched Alice bounce off to her Porsche, gently bringing her fingers up to her cheek where Alice had so sweetly kissed her, hardly believing her luck.

    15. The was so sweet. I loved the interaction between Howie and Alice. Dana and Alice are so cute together. I always enjoy seeing the different ways authors have them fall for each other.

    21. OMG! I love this. It’s so adorably sweet. Just what everyone needs. I hope you keep rolling this one out! Oh and totally feeling the jealousy over Sleater-Kinney, I tried to see them with Pearl Jam earlier in the year, but all sold out so, have a blast!
