Soulmates
For we have come by different ways to this place. I have no feeling that we met before. No Déjà vu. I don’t think it was you in lavender by the sea as I rode by in A.D. 1206 or beside me in the border wars. Or there in the Gallatins, a hundred years ago, lying with me in the silver-green grass above some mountain town. I can tell by the natural ease with which you wear fine clothes and the way your mouth moves when you speak to waiters in good restaurants. You have come the way of castles and cathedrals, of elegance and empire.
– Robert James Waller
Chapter 9
For Bette the last few months have been brutal. If she thought her life would get easier after all the activity of the Harris Deal was complete. She was wrong. Right now Bette felt a little rudderless and was searching for a direction to throw all her energy into.
After setting the Harris deal she flew out with Alice to personally give her the layout of her vision. They walked the neighborhood together all the while Bette sharing her vision to Alice. The neighborhood had change little since the last time Bette had viewed it. If anything the buildings had strong bones that led Bette to re-think her initial thoughts of tearing down all the buildings. Maybe she should design the structures about the heritage here. The images in Bette’s head were coming in clear and vibrant. All thoughts still needed to be translated onto paper and worked into a plan. But for Bette the more she breathed this project the more clarity it took. But with all projects all these ideas need to work their way out as the project takes on a life of its own. Bette couldn’t wait.
Assured that Alice had the basics Bette felt secure in leaving. She was off to Europe, Italy actually where she had lined up a small gallery that she wanted to buy or at the very least investigate further. Bette had stumbled upon this gallery by accident.
Bette had been drawn to the gallery after waking up one morning not alone. With the smell of sex filling her nostrils Bette looked at her self and realized it was her that reeked. She had to suppress her innate urge to flee. She needed to escape before her companion for the night woke up but she needed to do it in a way that didn’t disturb her. Bette didn’t want to face any words or looks that would come from her companion for the night. Silently slipping from the bed Bette looked down on the floor to find her blouse and shoes. True to her nature she had been the initiator of the sex for her pants were still in place.

I’m sorry to hear that you lost all that work you had done. Thanks for putting it back together and posting this new chapter.
I don’t think I’ve ever wanted someone fictional to die so much. Glad you came back with the story, sorry about the loss of the USB stick. Thanks
Glad you were able to save most of your work. Thanks for update.
Great update. Sorry you lost your work but happy that you were able to resurrect the material. Hope Bette finds Tina very soon. Thanks.

And pleaseeee don’t let her get pregnant by the beast!! Let Bette or whoever kind rescue her soon. And I am so agree with jp22!
it’s funny, Tina’s getting thrashed here and Bette was getting her butt kicked in another story. I’m thinking your Tina and Sammy’s Bette should hook up. Thanks for sharing an awesome story and sorry about the USB loss I feel you there
Jwet – so glad to see your post and know that you are ok. What a blow to have your story disappear when you are doing someone a favor by loaning them your thumb drive!! Well, I admire your tenaciousness in re-writing and building this wonderful story again. Thanks for this and for your commitment to your readers.
My condolences on your lost work – what a terrible pain — and there’s so much pain in this story as well — hopefully things will improve for all with the help of good friends…
Glad you are back.Thank you for the update.
Fabulous to see you back. My Fridays have missed you. What an aggravation to have lost your work! Can only imagine the number of copies you’ve secured. The same adage applies to our Nomadic Tina and Bette…how much more wrong can they endure? Just keep hoping for them, but fear that the Beast has done too much.
