Chapter 9
Bette mindlessly tapped her pen on the desk to the beat of her Jimmy Buffet’s Greatest Hits boxed set. In the privacy of her own office she had no problem belting out the tunes in her loudest singing voice. She chuckled as it dawned on her that she was a far cry from her sister Kit in the singing department. She flipped to the next page of the catalog in her hand noting it’s potential for her next show.
At this point in the morning, she had been at the gallery for 3 hours. Her weekend routine there was complete, she was now focusing on minimizing the amount of paperwork on her desk. Her cell phone rang causing her to put her pen down and reach for it. She smiled at the display screen and flipped it open.
“Hey T.”
“Hey yourself, what are you up to?”
“Working,” Bette said rolling her eyes knowing that her ex-wife would already know her habits by now.
“I know that. I meant are you working on something specific that needs your undivided attention?”
“No,” Bette said quickly. “Paperwork I’ve managed to avoid for weeks. What’s up?”
“I’m outside, I thought we could talk but the door’s locked.”
“Ah,” Bette said laughing. “I’ll be right out to let you in.”
Bette flipped her phone shut and put it on her desk walking toward the entrance to the gallery where, indeed, Tina awaited with bagels and coffee for them both.
“To what do I owe this surprise?” Bette asked as she unlocked the door and held it open for Tina to walk through.
“Can’t I just bring you breakfast knowing you hadn’t eaten yet?”
“How do you know that?”
Tina smiled and arched her brow in Bette’s direction to challenge her.
“Ok so you do know me well,” Bette peaked in the bag causing Tina to smile. “It’s a good thing you brought bagels or I might have had to reconsider letting you in.”
“I don’t think so Porter. If I know you, you’re wondering what I’m doing here. You’re too curious to turn me away.”
“Now that you mention it I am very curious. It’s only because I know you so well and you wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t important, given that you use to avoid me like the plague before a show.”

This so good. You’re so good, G. I need more to sustain me. Of course, Bette is afraid. Her boo boo is a big one and it did come first so Tina’s don’t look so bad. It will be difficult for Angie to forgive Bette. I compare it to Chelsea Clinton forgiving her father of screwing around with Monica and Chelsea was much older than Angie. Looking forward w/bated breath.
Ouch doesn’t apply here. It’s more like, “OMG WE GOTTA STOP THE BLEEDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” I thought Bette would rip off Alice’s face. =O
I love it when Bette gets all beast like! lol Loved the conversation between the family and TiBette! Through all that I still felt the tension! G, baby you got to releive the pressure..lol!

Gumby, I dont care how long you take to post(well maybe a little) Your story rocks, and each chapter ges us closer and closer to how Bette & Tina really think.(That is in fan fic world) Which is much more acceotable than what IC will be throwing at us this coming season, After the spoilers I heard, think I am gonna just count on my favorite fanfic writers, Like you. Bette is SO gonna have to deal with that question later… Maybe after the show, when Kirsten left and Bette comes crying out on T’s shoulder… What a ride this story is… Its SO beautifull, it gives me butterflies in my stomach!Its perfect gumby! Just PERFECT! PPS!
wow gumby this was great! Alice needs to think better what she will said because she can do alot of problem, but it was good for Bette to talk about her feelings and fears, i hope they will talk soon with angel, but i am diying to the next talk about her feelings for Tina.
It’s good to see that Tina hasn’t lost her touch with calming Bette down. It’s important to give Angie some type of answer as to what happened to their relationship. I do agree that she doesn’t need to know all the details. Hopefully, Tina will revisit Bette’s last comment about being with the woman she loves and they can begin the healing process between the two of them. I love this story!!!

Love this, Angie should know the truth. she is like a little bloodhound sniffing out the truth and the whys. Then Tina can tell her story. Angie is a bright young girl. she can forgive her Mothers,but not if they wait to long thanks

2 words…..DEEP…..and crap!!!!!!! xplanation on crap…was looking forward to the convo about the love of ur life thingy and a lil kiss would’ve been nice.
Well, my first thoughts were that Bette is acting like a selfish brat…….by the end of the chapter I still think that Bette as always has her own feelings first but Tina is slowly making her see that the truth is always the best path. I am looking forward to the next chapter!

OH BOY!! I can’t wait for the second half of that conversation! They are both finally going to have to admit that they love each other and want to be together… or at least I hope that is what is going to happen!
I don’t like to see Bette so upset, but sometimes its good. Gives her a chance to get things off her chest that she would otherwise keep locked inside. Not being able to be with the one she loves and will always love is a major issue. Tina will take care of that, and Gumby were counting on you to take care of the rest and you know what we want.
Sometimes it takes Bette coming unglued before you get to see the true Bette. Not only did she reveal how she felt about all that has taken place but also how she still blames herself for their demise. Her true feelings finally came out about her love for Tina only Tina is not quite sure that she is that love that Bette is refering to.
Maybe that last comment will start them on the road back to being together. Hopefully there will be some B&T making up soon. Cant wait for the next update. PPS

Bette is so adorable..impossible not to love her lol I can’t wait to read their talk with Angie..i still think that Angie will get mad with Bette and maybe ignore her mother for a while..really some drama there or i can be really wrong and she will take everything well.
