Chapter 8
The night air gently blew inside the open set of windows near the back of the house. The sound of night echoed as a comfort to those that slept. Kristen was not in that category as she eyed the clock once again seeing it was nearing 3:00 in the morning. She snuggled down in her pillow and watched as different expressions crossed over Bette’s face. The fact that she was dreaming was obvious, but what she was dreaming about was troubling Kristen.
At times Bette’s expression reflected happiness while brief moments happened where Bette frowned, seemingly upset by the images unfolding in her dream.
Bette frowned once more coupled with tossing and turning in her sleep. She once again tossed another pillow out of the bed unconsciously. She grasped at Kristen’s hand that had been draped over her body for the last 30 minutes in a futile attempt to provide comfort. Kristen looked at Bette once again as she struggled with her dreams. The sheen on Bette’s skin was evident, she began to perspire due to her haunting dreams.
“What are you dreaming about Baby?” Kristen whispered to herself as she rubbed Bette’s back.
The dream was in slow motion and it felt as if Bette was there in the flesh witnessing her memories unfold like an innocent bystander. There at The Planet sat her group of friends, drinking coffee as they normally would pretending their worlds weren’t turned upside down. Seated in the middle of the group was an angry Tina. The table, full coffee cups and all, came flying in Bette’s direction. Her feet moved quickly as she backed away from the hot liquid, daring again to make eye contact with Tina. It was too late, she was out of her seat and headed out of the back of the restaurant.
Bette gained the courage to walk up to the table of what was once her friends and her wife. The atmosphere was cold, very unforgiving, and she made a point to take away any chance they had to turn down her request to sit.
“Don’t worry, I won’t ask to join you. I know you all probably think I’m a monster.”
Her plea to talk to Tina fell on deaf ears. Tina wouldn’t allow things to be too easy on her. She told Bette if she wanted to talk, she had to say what she wanted in front of everyone. Tina knew Bette wasn’t fond of sharing her emotions, of allowing people glimpses inside of her innermost feelings. Yet, it was yet another punishment for her cheating, to bear her heart open in front of her friends.

Well, yet another stellar chapter. What I really enjoyed about this one, is how you had filled in so much where the show had not. I think many of us wondered what was going through Bette’s mind when she cheated, what was the driving force? What was the lack of emotion for the most part when it came to the loss of the baby? You filled alot of gaps in through the thoughts and emotions expressed in this chapter. It is typical for a child to have questions, and the ones being asked are very realistic. This is a wonderful story, and I know that no matter how often or less often that you might be able to post, your readers will be vigilantly watching for that next post.
Wow! Kristen should leave if she has all these doubts and feelings. Never ignore your gut feelings and Kristen’s is screaming and rumbling! Angie is too smart for her own good. She is going to rip Mama B and Mama t a new one. Post soon!
I thought Angie would get angry for not knowing about her brother. What bothers me is he was never even given a name.
What a story, Gumby, what a story! Magnificent! You describe the feelings of a teenager as well as her mothers and all the others spot on! Its a gift! Love this! PPS!
Woo, the memories weren’t quite so sweet in this chapter… but its a great read! Thanks for writing it!
What I like about this story is that it takes us everywhere. WEre happy, sad, depressed, hopeful, etc. I feel bad for Kristen, she obviously loves Bette, but is realistic to know, the only woman that will ever truly hold all of Bette Porter including her heart is Tina, and visa versa. Hopefully Angelica will get her parents to realize this before anyone elses heart gets broken.

if we have had, all these little details, in depths thoughts to what was really going in, I think we all would of been alot better off, the blow would of still hurt, but not been that painful imo. But we have fanfiction to do what Ilene can’t,backstory, grounds for all things which go wrong. Keep up the gd work.
If Bette and Tina are going to tell Angie the whole story then they need to to it together. It would be better if it came from them and not from someone else and since their story is so well known Angie is bound to hear about it at some point. I love everything about this story and whenever you can write and post I know I will be here to read it just like everyone else. Thank You!
Like someone said Angelica is too smart for her own good…I mean Tina basically told her “I lost the baby…I wanted to feel desired” now Angelica is gonna think Tina lost the baby…Bette didn’t find her desirable anymore…so she went in search of Helena who found her attractive…they need to tell her….I tell you what…what’s Angelica’s #…I’ll call her and set this straight…lol…please post soon.

Great chapter Gumby. It is very realistic, and I could actually picture these things in my mind as if I were watching them on a TV set. Great job….. it take s a lot of skill to be able to paint the complete picture….. Thanks for writing a realistic story. looking forward to the next chapter.
OK GGGGGGGGGGGGGGG u know this must be longer glad ur showing how both bette and tina r to blame for the breakup, how their inabity to deal with it separtly has not allow them to move on in relationship with other people..Or the fact that they cant move on together is affecting their relationship with the kid.. please tell me that made sense

G…Very skillful writing. I really like Angelica. She is dogged in her desire to extricate the truth from her Moms plus her need to get them together. PPS.

Bette is still torn up with all the guilt and pain that she has caused both herself and Tina. Tina is torn between her love for Bette and protecting Angelica from the truth of their demise. Maybe Angie can get her mamas to sit and really talk about their feelings about each other and their life with and a part from one another.
