After Tasha was done talking,Papi said,” I think you should have told your father about her”. It took Tasha awhile to respond to her comment. ”No, you know how he feels about me ,seening he was in uniform too”.”I love Alice, and if he can’t accept who I am as a person, well it nothing I can do to change that”. As long as my mother and sister (Christina) got my back, we’ll be okay”. ”So keep me posted okay Tash, Papi hangs up. Alice walks to where Tasha is standing, she puts her arms around her. Tasha smiles at Alice, they both take a breath. ”Are you ready to go my love, Tasha taking the brush out of Alice’s hand.

    Yeah.” Tasha decided to brush her hair into a ponytail. ”Aaww don’t do that.” Alice admonished from her position at Tasha’s side. ”I don’t want to travel with a scarf on my head. My hair needs to be flat ironed again. Look I’ll get Christina to do it again ok?” ”You better.” ”My mom is going to love you.” Tasha called her mom from the airport. ”Hey mommy. No we’re fine. I just wanted to call you before we got on the plane. In about 30 minutes. Well I think she’s excited about meeting you too.” Tasha smiled at Alice. Alice gave her a peck on the cheek. ”Well I’ll rent a car and come straight to the hospital when we get there. Ok. Love you. Bye.” ”You know it’s so cute you call your mom mommy.” Alice teased a bit. ”I’m a mama’s girl. I’m a daddy’s girl too. I was so adamant on doing what my parents wanted growing up. I couldn’t think of disappointing them.” She got this far off look on her face. ”Do you think you’re disappointing them?” ”Being gay? Being in the military?” ”Yeah?” ”I feel like at the end of the day it’s my life. I can’t worry about trying to please everyone.” ”That’s right you should only worry about pleasing me.” Alice joked and that got a laugh out of Tasha. ”Last time I checked I didn’t have anything to worry about in that department.” Alice leaned in and kissed Tasha.
