    Christina reached for her earnings but then she felt Bette pulling her in.

    Fuck I hope she don’t pull away because this is our chance to get it right, it’s now or never…Bette thought to herself.

    She continued to draw her in when suddenly they were half of an inch away from each other, they looked into each other’s eyes once more and right then in there they felt it. Their lips were touching. The sparks, the butterflies, the electricity, all of it was here in this moment. Neither knew how long the kiss lasted but one thing for sure it was the best kiss of their lives.

    Bette: I’ve been waiting to do that for a long time.

    (Literally)

    Christina: really?

    Bette: yes Christina, really.

    Christina would never understand what she meant by that statement.

    Bette leaned in to capture the blondes lips once more then slowly pulling away.

    Christina: Bette?

    Bette: yeah?

    Christina: call me Tina

    Bette will never make it back to Henry’s office as it all just didn’t seem important anymore. She knew what her dreams meant but more importantly her dreams brought her to this moment, to this woman.

    They both look into each other’s eyes and smiled, and rest you all know is history.

    A few notes:

    1. I originally wanted to tell a story of how technology brought two women together but then I thought well there are more ways that it could happen, so it became longer than expected of a short story.

    2. In the dream it was used through modern technology, exactly what we are uses to this day cell phones, internet, etc. In reality it was used through scientific technology but the results were the same. The two women were destined to be together but technology played a big part in making it happened.

    3. Kit’s part in the dream represents her longing for that bond with her sister in reality. Her dreams were a way to suppress that desire she always wanted.

    4. Bette’s love for her dream friends Alice, Dana, Shane represents her love for her father.

    5. Bette relationship with Jodie represents the bad side of her father. Even though I didn’t get to explore that more, as I couldn’t tell their story because it’s more important to tell her’s and Tina’s but Im sure everyone knows their relationship and I couldn’t get myself to write too much about Jodie(argh) lol.

    Anyways I hope you guys enjoyed. I hope you will let me tell another story one day ;-)

Freud was one of the researchers on dreams (logical at that time did not have the technology we have today, continuing) and explained a very important concept: when you sleep your subconscious mind awakens. And when we wake up, wake up the conscious mind and the subconscious falls asleep. Freud also found that during the dream all our frustrated desires, emotions, thoughts that were not released during the day are released by our unconscious mind. So are our dreams, according to Freud.
      You are very talented and creative.
      This story goes to my favorites list.

    12. Just finished up this story and I have to tell you I did not foresee the twist here at the last. What a great idea, and you carried it off so wonderfully!

      I laughed through much of the chapters and loved your author-asides…those were hilarious and I could even see your face as you made them and hear your voice. No, TN1, I don’t have you under surveillance :), but your “voice” and personality along with your Twitter pict really come through your writing.

      On a serious note, I think Kit had it partially right a few chapters ago when she said technology would destroy us. In a way it might, but not because the technology itself isn’t good or useful, but that our own humanity often gets left behind because of it. I think about how often people are able to be cruel and judgmental via the internet because they can remain anonymous.

      Anyway, I liked this story a bunch and am glad you are writing so prolifically. Dang, I wish I could write as fast and as much as you! I’ll check out your other offerings, but first I need to go back and catch up on some other writers.
