Tell Me Something Good – Chapter 11

    Previously…

“You’re welcome.” Tina walked Bette to the main door. She wasn’t ready for the brunette to leave. They stood in the doorway in silence…just looking at each other. Tina stepped in front of Bette and placed her hands on the brunette’s hips. The same action that Bette had taken earlier in the kitchen, she did again. Bette leaned in and placed her lips on Tina’s lips. Each enjoying the contact, Tina opened her mouth a touch and Bette deepened the kiss. Their tongues slowly moving and twirling around each other…their bodies pressing against each other… trying to get closer…straining to get closer…wanting to get closer.

Bette broke off the kiss. She was out of breath. She leaned her forehead on Tina’s.
“Thanks again for dinner. I’ll pick you up tomorrow.”

“You’re welcome…again.” Tina took a deep breath. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”

Bette gave Tina a kiss on the cheek and skipped down the steps. For the second time, Tina watched until Bette rounded the corner.

    Chapter 11

“So, who do you think Bette met at the park yesterday?” Alice asked, glancing up from her copy of Time Out New York.

“It’s none of our business, Al, so don’t even speculate.” Shane lifted her sunglasses from her nose to look at Alice.

“Yeah, sweetie…don’t even mention anything to her.” Dana glanced at Al as she took a sip of her iced coffee.

Alice placed her magazine on the table and twirled the straw in her iced coffee. “Shane, she didn’t say anything to you? Didn’t say anything about where she came from when she got home last night?” Alice leaned back in her chair.

“Nothing Al, I didn’t really ask her. You know how Bette likes to keep things private.”

    “But you’re Yoda.”

“Look, when she wants to say something, she will. When she wants us to know who she is seeing, she’ll tell us, but I can tell you one thing…she looked really happy last night and she was skipping.”

Al spewed her iced coffee. Dana and Shane backed away just in time not to get sprayed.

“Geez Alice!” The two women shouted.

“Skipping?!? Bette Porter was skipping? That I would have loved to see. I wonder who put the skip in her steps?” Alice took some napkins from the holder and began to wipe the table. “Think she got laid last night? I mean, it has been a while…almost four months I think.”

    1. Great update. And the reunion went off without a hitch with the exception of Alice, of course. Hope Tina will put a stop to the grilling. Thanks for posting.
