Tell Me Something Good – Chapter 29

“Did Tina tell you what time she was going to bed?”

“No. I tried calling her before we left and it went straight to voice mail. I’m sure Alice and Dana are keeping her busy in one room while Kit tends to Angelica in another room.” Bette chuckled trying to imagine what their blonde journalist and her former professional tennis player wife were doing with Tina.

Bette and Shane rode the cab in silence. Bette was lost in thought of what tomorrow was going to bring.

Shane pulled out her cell phone. She scrolled her contact list, found the number she was looking for and sent out a quick text.

    At The Plaza Hotel

“Okay, thanks Alice and Dana. I’ll see you in the morning for breakfast and thanks for taking Angie for the night.” Tina watched as Alice, Dana and Angie walked down the corridor to their room. She joined Kit on the couch. “Thanks for staying a while longer, Kit. I need adult conversation after being with Alice and Dana. I love them, but sometimes they can be so childish.”

Kit smiled at her soon-to-be sister-in-law. “It’s no problem, baby girl.” She grabbed Tina’s hand and gave it a squeeze. “Why don’t we go out for a walk or something to let out the stress.”

“Okay. Just let me call Bette first.” Tina went to the bedroom and closed the door.

Kit checked her cell phone and read her text. She smiled she saw the message. “The eagle has left the building. On our way to meet Mama Bear.” Kit closed her phone when she heard the bedroom door close.

“Bette’s phone went straight to voice mail. I could really use a walk right now.” Tina combed her fingers through her hair. She let out a frustrated breath.

“Well, let’s go then.” Kit grabbed the hotel card key and slipped it in her pocket. “You know what I could really go for? I could go for I ice cream and I know just the place. Are you up for it?” Kit linked her arm through Tina’s as they made their way to the elevator.

“Ice cream sounds good right about now.” Tina smiled at Kit. “Bette would be dying of with envy if she found out that we were on our way to get ice cream.”

    1. For once that Alice intervenes and mingles for the right outcome… nicely done to play with their weak points..(not wanting to spend time apart) I could feel the anguish…esp in Bette..Great job..thank you for the chapter, thank you for the story and I forgot to ask if you had a nice holiday! Kxx

    2. Wonderful update. I do love this story and will miss it when it ends. Maybe we can have a “SEQUEL” to show their lives after the marriage and any little additions to the family they might be thinking about. Thanks for posting.
