Alice looked for the tennis player and spotted her sitting alone in a far table. Casually, Alice took out her cell phone to press her speed dial one.

Dana jumped up with the disturbing melody of her cell phone. Her cheeks were burning, her breathing were shallow. The melody and the photo on the phone clearly announced an incoming call from Alice. Dana panicked again even though this call is pretty much expected. Her hands made waving movements like a fan to calm herself with her one hand. The phone was in the other. She whispered ‘*****’ over and over again while looking at the cute yet ***** photo of Alice popping up on her phone. When she finally pressed the button to receive the call, she found out that the line was already dead.

Alice saw everything pretty clear. Dana freaked out when she found out it was Alice. Why wouldn’t she? She had a very serious relationship and suddenly she got some strange sexual vibes from her best friend. Alice knew Dana too well to interpret her actions. She obviously didn’t want to loose her friendship with Alice and being the inexperienced Dana, she was confused about what to do with this situation. She hung up and left the Planet.

Standing just outside of the Planet, Alice used her phone once more but this time to call someone different. “Hey *****? What do you say we have dinner tonight at my place?” Giggling through the phone, Alice continued: “Of course there’s gonna be a desert. ‘Kay? See you later.”

“Hey, what’s up?” Shane shouted from behind. “Leaving already?” Alice looked at Shane, she was obviously having a bad day. “Yeah, are you OK?” Alice asked concerned.

“Don’t wanna talk about it, all right? Is anyone inside?” Shane dropped the subject before it was opened. “I was going in when Andrew called.” She lied. “That’s Dana’s Subaru over there so she’s in the caf I’d say. Tell her I said hi and I have a hot date with Andrew, OK?” She wanted to emphasize that she was hot and heavy with Andrew and show Dana whatever she thought she felt was a misunderstanding.

“Why would she care?” Shane asked  in a suspicious tone. Alice smiled uncomfortably knowing that sneaking around Shane was not a piece of cake. “Well, in case she calls silly. I won’t be answering my calls if you know what I mean” she winked and walked away.

“Weird” Shane thought and went to sit opposite of Dana. “Hey Dee what’s up?”

“Good Shane” Dana answered smiling weakly.

“I just saw Alice in the front. She said she got a call from Andrew.”

“You did?” Dana said disappointedly. She really wanted to get over with this weird situation but then maybe Dana was exaggerating. There was nothing to discuss about.

Shane saw the disappointment in Dana’s eyes and instantly knew there was something hidden deep inside Dana. “Yeah, she said she got a hot date with him. Well she obviously doesn’t want us to call or drop by tonight” Shane said and air quoted: “If you know what I mean?”

She did know. She also knew that even though this should be a relief, she felt as if a knife stabbed really hard onto her chest.
